Started booking ADRs for June...no availability for Sci Fi?!?!?! That stinks. Plus a lot of restaurants now require a credit card hold (50s prime time)....how much is the hold? Do they charge it immediately and what are some Ressies that do not require it?

You have to have a credit card on file for all ADR for the cancellation policy. If you don't cancel one day in advance, your card will be charged 10$ per person. It's not held in advance.

Some fixed price meals are paid for in advance, but 50s Primetime Café is not.

All restaurants require a credit card hold now.

None will be charged immediately except the prepaid reservations (CRT, Hoop De Doo, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Spirit of Aloha, some special events) but it will be charged a penalty per person if you don't cancel and don't show up.

There's a sticky that explains this.

1. Plus a lot of restaurants now require a credit card hold (50s prime time)....how much is the hold?

2. Do they charge it immediately

3. and what are some Ressies that do not require it?

1. It's not a hold, but if you fail to cancel before the deadline and then no one in your party shows up at the restaurant, you will be charged a $10 per person penalty. The deadline in most cases is 11:59 PM the night before the reservation, but there are exceptions with an earlier deadline such as CRT and the Wishes dessert party. It's best to read the fine print when making the reservation because the cancellation policy is uusually included.

2. The penalty is not charged until you fail to show up at the restaurant. Some reservations (e.g. CRT, the 3 dinner shows) require immediate payment when you make the reservation unless you link your dining plan to the res. You will still have to give your cc info for the no show penalty which in the case of CRT and dinner shows is the full amount of the meal.

3. Every time you make a reservation through Disney it will require the credit card guarantee. The only exception is a FP+ reservation for BOG at lunchtime because it is a CS at lunch.
