Hey there..I am sure this has been asked before but as usual the search engine isn't working. I was wondering if you can use c.cards to pay for simple things like drinks, snacks, icecream, etc from small vendors. We don't want to carry more cash then we have to and plan to charge everything for now. Thanks for any info!

I used mine in Animal Kingdom at an ice cream cart. I believe I also used it to buy pretzels...somewhere!!
Hope that helps!

I use my debit card for just about everything I rarely have cash on my person at the parks... with the exception of the street vendors that are out for the parades and the balloons.... (at least last time I bought something from one of them which has been a while... DD is outgrowing the stuff I guess!) - As far as I know all the food stands will take a credit/debit card.

Thanks for the info..I use my debit card everywhere too. I hate carrying cash!!! :goodvibes

It's late and I'm tired so maybe I've missed something(forgive me if I have.. ). It looks as though you'll be staying in a Disney resort. If that's the case you'll have your "Keys to the World" card. This card will be used for getting into your room and also has your DP credits info if you're on the DP. Also, you can use those cards to charge stuff to your room. They'll have your credit or debit card on file and you'll have a limit(I think it varies depending on the type of resort you're at...the limit is more for deluxe, less for value??). You can carry this card and use it almost everywhere instead of your credit or debit card. At the end of your stay they'll charge it all to the number on file. I love this! Of course, you can still use your credit/debit cards when you want or instead of, but it's nice to have this little perk!
Have a good trip! :goodvibes

I stayed in a condo and didn't have that key luxury thing, but my credit card worked everywhere. Even the small icream stands in the park. It was wonderful. And when I came back I just transfered that info onto a spreadsheet I have to help me with money spent and I knew exactly how much was spent at disney. Total amount was a shocker, but it was so easy... My husband carried some cash, and I paid with nothing but cc... I LOVED IT!!! I wish I was there again... So no worries, spend away....

Some of the carts don't have the equipment needed for credit cards. They are usually the push style that seem to move around the parks. Most of the permanent snack places have the ability for cards to be used.

Yes and you can give them cash to get the same effect I believe.

With the addition of the Disney Dining Plan, they seem to have added the electronic capability to nearly all of the permanent snack stands. I have seen people say that they have problems with snack stands, but it appears to be only those stands that were added for peak times.

Of course, if you aren't a frequent visitor, it's not obvious which stands are "permanent" and which are "surge" only.

A fairly quick/easy way to check BEFORE standing in line is to look for the Disney Dining Plan symbol on the price list. It's a purplish square thing that will be next to the price. If they have this symbol, they can take the DDP, which means they should be able to take any electronic payment media.

Hope this helps and have a good trip!

If I recall correctly, I had some problems using CC or maybe just my Discover at several of the stands/carts around the World Showcase. Now I remember, it seems like they wouldn't take my Disney Visa card.
Anyone else had this trouble??
