Credit card still needed for prepaid car?

Hi guys,only 8 days left,and still a few more questions....do i still need to provide a credit card even though i have prepaid with Alamo..and if so what for?again any help appreciated

Depends what cover you went for - we booked through Virgin last year and had the full package so they just had an inprint of our card.

The full package pays for everything apart from tolls and fines so I think it is for those issues, if you end up with any

We always prepay for bet cover and never leave one as we dont have one, we book with dollar though

Car rental companies generally want to have an imprint of your credit card in case of damage to/theft of the car.

If you don't do this then many companies will demand a fairly hefty cash deposit be left instead.
