Do we have to use a credit card to get a reservation at every table service meal now????? hate that new policy....

No. Why do you think so?

There's a sticky at the top of this board that lists the restaurants - mostly venues with character meals and signatures - so not every sit down place.

What new policy? I have several booked with and without credit cards. Just depends on the place...

The only one I had to use a card with before was the castle breakfast...don't remember having to do it with others??

It started in October, 2011

Yes, previously it was only CRT and the dinner shows - they still require prepayment.

The new policy doesn't require any kind of prepayment, but a credit card on file which will only be charged if you fail to cancel within the specified time and then don't show up at the restaurant.

I think it has made getting reservations at hard to book places easier in many cases, especially close to the day. People are now taking the time to cancel reservations they aren't planning to use because of the $10 per person penalty. :)

On a similar theme, I have several reservations that required a CC to make. If we keep the reservation, but not all guests show up, will we be charged for those guests that didn't show? I have some family coming from overseas that we are meeting up with, and they have never been to WDW (and don't understand the need for "planning" <sigh>), and if they flake on the reservations, I would rather not be charged.

No, as long as someone in your party shows up for your reservation, you will not be charged for those who were unable to come. Just let the restaurant know when you check in. :thumbsup2

As long as someone shows you're good - unless it's one of the pre-pay places like CRT or HDDR. I think you would still have to pay for them there.
