Credit card political donations?!

So, I get my credit card bill yesterday and as I'm glancing down the charges, I realize there is a $5 charge placed for a political party, one of whom I do not plan to vote for!!! I quickly called my cc company and they recommended calling the phone number listed on my bill for them, which I did and talked to someone who was happy to reimburse me. I asked him if he worked directly with this politician and he said they were there to reiumbuse people or to collect donantions. When asked how they would have got my info, he had no idea but was happy to put the credit through if I gave him my cc info! NO WAY!! I asked them to send me a check, which he said he would. So , I called my cc company back and placed a fraud charge on this listed 'vendor' ....it's really scarey that somehow people can get your info and do something like this. Thankfully I caught it and it was only for $5, but if that party is charging everyone $5, they will be doing pretty good. Check your bills!!!!!!!!
