Hoping someone can answer a question for me..... We have 2 minivans from national booked for our trip. One is booked under my dh name, and the other in my ds name. When I booked the ressie, I used my dh credit card for both ressies. It appears now that my ds needs to book under his own credit card. The credit card has to match the reservation name. We want to pick up the bill for his rental. Unfortunately, my son does not have enough available on his credit card for the authorization at the time we pick up the car. Any ideas how we should handle this? Should we just wait until we rent the car to handle this?

Thanks for your help....
Annie

You'll be fine. As long as your son has the available credit on his card, plus about 20% at the time that you pick up the vehicle, there will be no problem.

We rented a car from Thrifty and their website said that for the deposit you need the cost of the rental car plus 15%.I just sent a payment to my credit card to cover the deposit plus the cost of the rental car.
annie5379,You could call the rental car company directly and explain to them what going on..Then you'll know for sure before you leave what you can do......Just for piece of mind if nothing else....
Have a great trip,Debbie

Thanks Deb..... That's exactly what I did. I'm just glad that I checked into this ahead of time!!! Under no circumstances will National rent to anyone...even a second driver without a credit card with the available balance. I have taken the advice of the posters on here, and will mail in the amount that we were going to pay for him.

Thanks again!!!!

National only holds the amount of the rental, they don't hold anything extra.
