Credit card ADRs and the dining plan

What are the rules about places like Chef Mickeys that require a credit card to reserve when you are using the dining plan? I can't find it on the brochure.

Is it different if it's Cindy's Royal table vs CM?

For anything but CRT and the 3 dinner shows, there is no difference at all between reservations on the dining plan and reservations not on the dining plan. You must provide a credit card number for a hold, if the restaurant is one of the ones on the credit card hold list.

CRT and dinner shows require full payment at booking. To get out of paying in full at booking you must have a Disney resort reservation with a dining plan added. If you're booking online put in your resort reservation number and it SHOULD require you to give the credit card number as a hold only. It doesn't always work. If the website is still charging you in full, you'll need to call and have a human do the booking.

Thanks Nala! I can't get the website to accept my reservation number, so I need to call either way. I just wanted to be prepared.

Not saying I will do this, but if someone on the DP misses their reservation at Cindy's, will they get charged for the meal? If they miss one of the other $10 hold ones, will they be charged $10?

Yes. If you miss a meal at CRT or a dinner show you will be charged the full amount of the meal. For the others it's $10 per person (not $10 total).
