So last night, I was having a final talk with my mom on the phone about our trip this weekend. I was going over some of the menus (she doesn't have internet, nor is willing to learn the internet :lmao:) She said everything was fine, and I of course am doing my last minute second guessing. I told her I wanted to cancel Ohana for the Captian's Grille and I was reading the menu to her. She told me not to touch a thing that she wanted to try Ohana. I like Ohana--but its meh to me compared to the Captain's Grille.

My fiance kicks me from across the couch and said to quit pushing the Captain's Grille on her and eat something different for a change :rotfl2: I puppy eyed him and said, but we love it there and eat there every trip :sad1: He loves it there too, but it just didn't fit in my trip with my mom that is only 3 nights. This will be my first trip sans Captain's Grille :sad2:

So I get off the phone with her and he said that he could tell me every single item I would be ordering, down to my snacks for the 3 nights/4 days we'll be there. He rambled off everything down to switch this for that, no sauce, no cheese on that, etc etc etc. He told me I'm a creature of habit and I never branch out. I think this may have hurt my feelings, lol--although true.

I guess I just order my favorites that I can't have everyday :confused3 I crave some of those menu items for months until I'm back there to get them!

So do you stick to the same orders that you love, or do you try something new when you go??? Is there a happy medium to this madness?? I'd love to hear if there's anymore "creatures" like me out there :rotfl:

I had a habit of doing that as well and honestly I do that here at home too when we go out to eat..

Now for the last three years we stick to one or two of our favirotes but the rest of our trip we eat at restaurants we havent tried yet. I didnt want to at first but I have to say I am glad we are trying different places b/c I have enjoyed quite a few of them.

Trying California Grill last Sept put it back on our list for this Sept..

Now Ohana is my one fave I insist on for the first day of our trip every year..
Only other repeat this Sept will be California Grill and Trex and WFPE but we are trying Capt Grill, Cape May, Brown Derby, La Hacienda

pretty much. i'm trying to give her a good variety so she can pick a few meals when the family is there for my wedding next year :goodvibes

plus she's paying for the rehearsal dinner... so i'm letting her pick from those restaurants :)

I'm such a creature of habit too!! Although, my fiance's never been there, so he's leaving it up to me to plan everything. I just want him to look at few menus just to see if there's something he might want to try that I over looked. :)

i can see it now... your mom picks 'Ohana for your rehearsal dinner ;)

we are a mix of "creatures"... we have our standards and we always try at least one new place, or re-visit a restaurant we have not visited in the past few years... the one fave we can never seem to fit in is the Plaza... it's truly a hidden gem, but so hard when we have to eat at CP and a few monorail restaurants!

I have an excel schedule where I have all our dining ADRs. For the next trip, I just copy the same old schedule and adjust the dates. I try to slip in one or two new things, but 99.9% are the same...same places...same parks...same times....

yeah... that's probably why she won't let me cancel it, lol. she saw a fixed price :rotfl2: my reception is in the napa room at the california grill so we'll be having that for sure.

when my fiance and i go... we pick at least 2 new places and we have one "last chance". the last chance is a place we had a bad experience at that continues to get good reviews. le cellier was our last chance last time, and it was even worse than our first try... so that is a never again for us

We are definitely creatures of habit. I can't go without my favorites! If I don't eat at Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's I feel lost! When DH and I went a few years ago I got super sick and we had to miss our Crystal Palace ADR and I felt so bummed! It was like our trip was incomplete. We normally don't try anything new because then it takes the place of something we love. When we did try something new (Kona) that's when I got the sickness which made me miss Crystal Palace! :lmao: Stick with what you love! I learned my lesson the hard way.

OP -have a great trip!!!!! DH and I love the GF cafe :lovestruc

DH is very much a creature of habit, so I have learned to be flexible with him and let him have his favs and then we always try at least one new place each trip. But, I got to admit, when I make my plans and budget, I can pretty much (180 days in advance) narrow it down to the entree and apetizer we will order at each place....sad, but true.....

Every trip has to have each of these places,Yak and yet(lunch), 9 draggons, Chef Mickeys(Breakfast), Crystal Palace(Breakfast), Planet Hollywood(dinnier) , Biergarten, ESPN, Pecos Bill, O'hanas. All with out fail or it really does feel like something Is missining:scared1:.
