Creature comforts to become quick service restaurant in 2015

~Unless it's you. Right?!? I don't know what has gotten into you. But, you know very well that beer is my good DIS buddy and has been -- for what must be years now and unlike you, he always has my back. He loves it and he does it to me, too. How do you think it started??? :cool2:

~And, I don't do this "every" time. beer just returned from vacation with his family at WDW and provided valuable feedback and insight. I was just being nice, but since this upsets you so much, I won't do it anymore. Is that better?

~Also, it's not SWF. Single White Female are crazy sociopath women who stalk. harass, mock and attempt to emulate other "women." Even when you ask them to leave you alone, they can't or won't. Capiche??? :goodvibes

~Back on topic. I believe this will be a Starbucks. :surfweb:

It was a joke that apparently came up well short of its target range...

No biggie...somedays you get the bear and somedays the bear gets you.

Sorry

You say that everytime he posts...he never "disappears"

It's a little SWF
:thumbsup2 Agreed-except that SWF involves females who antagonize, stalk and copy other females.

Eh... it needed to be said-no biggie but still annoying. If she can't "be nice" as she puts it-to all of us than don't "be nice" at all. Fairness. :thumbsup2

~Oh come on, lockedout -- I know you where just joking from the beginning. But, you killed me with the SWF thing -- and some people don't get our humor -- look at what happened with mvk when he just made a simple joke that was quite obvious. So, I elaborated on it, you know how that goes.

~But on to more pressing matters -- did you seriously just apologize to me? Awww, how sweet of you. I never knew you where capable of using such a word. Seriously, I have never seen you use it -- ever. You don't have to apologize, but I'll gladly accept it, even if it is all in CODE. Don't worry, I'll comply as you wish...

I hope they do start offering more comfort food around the park.
~LOL. Perfect timing for the response! And, I agree -- does AK even have an ice cream shop?!? I totally welcome an ice cold Frapp in AK! :cool1:

~LOL, this is too funny. Okay fine, I get it. :lmao:

Officially...I was apologizing to anyone who ever watched SWF...
What a ridiculous movie... She kills him with a high heel for gods sake.

;)

Disney's pastries are not that impressive anymore...sadly.
The same streamlining, cost cutting garbage you see with all food and merchandise

Amen. You would think by now people would be demanding quality. The dumbing down has been successful.

It's unfortunate that World class chefs were forced to dumb down menus to accommodate the masses from free dining-who never frequented these types of establishments to begin with. Disney signature dining is just as common as a Mickey bar now. :thumbsup2

That IS the magic number for us coffee addicts. I appreciate that WDW finally dumped Nescrape for Joffrey, but, now that you have opened the door to Starbucks, throw them wide open! My mornings at WDW will always start with Starbucks if I can get to it.

The magic number is 1 purveyor of mediocre coffee in each park?

I am particular about coffee and find Joffrey's to be as bitter and nasty as I would imagine battery acid tastes.

The label of mediocre would indicate " average" or "middle of the road"-- so under this parameter, I would assume you can list as many coffee brands that are better than starbucks roasters as you can ones that are not as good. I tried to hate them because of the trendy feel, but their roasters are top notch.

Starbucks deserves credit for, as someone once put it, "teaching America how to drink coffee." Sure, there were some high-end coffees for knowlegable coffee drinkers before Starbucks rolled their brand across the United States. But most Americans were drinking something like Folger's or Maxwell House (any many still are). Starbucks offered 100% arabica bean coffee, freshly ground in the store. In addition to drip coffee, Starbucks offered espresso drinks, which Europeans had long enjoyed, but which were new to many Americans.

Starbucks has always had its fans and detractors. One criticism has been that Starbucks roasted its coffee too dark. While Starbucks sourced it beans from various different coffee regions (and labeled them geographically), everything was a essentially French Roast, leading to the nickname "Charbucks."

In 2008, Starbucks introduced its medium roast Pike Place Blend. I like it. It's what I order at Starbucks and it's similar to what I brew at home. It's not as good as some super-premium coffees, but it has a good flavor profile for an everyday coffee.

Coffee is a matter of taste, like wine. Some people like a $2.99 bottle of wine just as much (or more) than a reasonably well-made wine costing several times that. And some people are willing to pay 20 times as much (or more) for a high-end Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Many of us usually stick to the middle. That's how I feel about coffee -- and Starbucks -- too.

Starbucks regular coffee tastes burnt.....I almost choked when I first tried it.....the blonde roast is much better. :thumbsup2

Is there a update when the Starbuck in Downtown Disney will be opening. Saw post on the construction but wanted update on dates.

I'll take my morning/late afternoon coffee fix over another place to push a trinket I'm not gonna buy any day. And I'm not even a fan of Starbucks...but I need coffee more.

1 in each park is fine as well as the bigger guest areas like DTDisney and Boardwalk.

The Blonde is the best thing they brought to SB for us regular coffee drinkers, ie those who don't understand what a "mocha lattie flappy wrapper half caff light swirly dippy sippy straw" is

no dates have been announced or rumored at this point. I'm assuming the one by world of disney will open first because it is a much smaller location probably similar to some in malls. The one in the west side is a larger stand alone building.

I hope it's a Starbucks! I would love to walk around AK sipping an icy cold Mocha Frappuccino.:goodvibes
