We are leaving in 2 weeks and still have not told our 2 boys! My head is about to explode!!! They are 4 and almost 6 (DS will be turning 6 while there) and we didn't want to tell them too early and have them drive themselves and us crazy while waiting. But now is the time and I was wondering if anyone else has sprung it on their kids in a really fun way! Share, please! :tink:

We surprised our kids last year. We said we were going to visit my friend who lives near the airport. I played hangman with them in the car. The last one was "We're Going to Disney." They didn't get it. They were 7 and 12 at the time. I turned on the video camera and repeated, "We're Going To Dinsey, NOW!"

They were very surprised. When we got to the airport we ate dinner at TGIFridays, and two other our friends and their families were already seated. That was the 2nd part of the surprise.

My friend is surprising next month by waking their kids up in the am and telling them their going to the airport.

It's all such fun!

A friend of mine picked her kids from school and took them to the airport when they got there the kids were really confused. She told them we're getting on a plane and going to Disney they freaked . She said it was great.

We're planning on going right between ds and dd's birthdays. We're planning on taking the autotrain so we're not telling and we'll see how they react to tthe train. Tehy know "if" we go;) we're going by train. I'm sure they will just flip out. Although I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep my mouth shut about it though

Can your chldren read? Last summer, we planned a last minute trip and didn't tell the kids (DD8 & DS6) right away. When the time came, I made up little rhyming clues that sent them to various parts of the house. The last clue sent them to the computer. I had typed "We're going to Disney World" in big letters, but I did it ahead of time so the screen saver was on when they got to the computer. I told them to move the mouse and when the words came up on the monitor, they went crazy! I wish I had the video camera out at that moment.

Thanks for the tips, guys! My husband actually initiated the "reveal" this morning while we were sitting in Dunkin' Donuts. By the way, getting them full of doughnut and then telling them they are going to WDW - possibly not the best combination!! Anyway, we started by telling my oldest that we just wouldn't be able to have his birthday party at Jump Zone and how we're really sorry, but something else has come up.......They flipped and immediately started telling me everything they wanted to ride - and they've never even been there before!!!!

We told our girls an hour before we had to be at the airport! Here's the pictures from it on this link http://www.flickr.com/photos/heatherortega/sets/72157600560630781/show/

We had told them we were going camping but then when we got to my mother in laws house to leave we told them we werent going camping but we blindfolded them and told them they had to figure it out from the clues in their goodie bags. They didn't get it at all, so we let them take off their blindfolds and my middle child finally figured it out but was so excited she couldn't speak! Then we told them we had to hurry and put our luggage tags on and get to the airport. My teenager(now 14) kept saying, "I can't believe this. I'm in shock and I don't even know what to say!" hehe

My sis just did this last month. She made shirts for them that said "We're going to Disney World...NOW" (from the wonderful designers on the Disign thread here on the Dis!) and woke them really early, got them dressed and then brought them downstairs to read each others shirts! Plus, it was their first time on a plane and the design was Mickey and Minnie in a plane so it was really cool. Sis and her husband already had the car packed to go to the airport so they literally found out and then headed out the door!
