I've tried hard but I don't get it :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I don't get that either but here is my story:

My sister and I found out that we were both pg the day after each other. This was my first and her 2nd. Found out from our dr that we were due 2 days apart and no, it wasn't planned.

So- ultrasound day comes and we are both 9 weeks. I took a pic of the test and hid it among some photos I took of Halloween. We set the videocamera up so my parents couldn't see it and showed them some pix and they freaked when they saw my test. The dog was barking, my nephew was yelling and everyone was nuts.

3 minutes later, my nephew comes out with a t shirt that says, I'm the big brother. My other sister bends down to ask if he is excited about being a big cousin and sees his shirt and everyone freaks out again! It's all on tape.

It was awesome and I am seriously considering sending it to America's Funniest Home vidoes!

My sister had Max on June 27th and I had Christopher on July 1st at the same hospital with the same dr in almost the same delivery room. I don't think we could have done that better if we tried! :goodvibes

In the "olden days" they used to inject the urine of a woman into a rabbit. If the rabbit died, the woman was definitely pregnant. If the rabbit lived, she was not.

Too bad there aren't any holidays or birthdays coming up... :)

keep the ideas coming!
Can you wait till Labor day?

Your friend could do like DH and I did. We bought two baby-blue bags (we didn't know it was a boy at the time though) and inside each bag was a book. DFIL's book is called "100 Reasons I Love Grampa" and DMIL"s book was "100 Reasons I Love Grandma". I think we got the books at Barnes and Nobles. :)

This one is awesome!

My parents were on a trip in Australia for a month, and I found out a week after they left so I had to wait until they returned home to tell them the good news. Me and my husband rushed to the airport to pick my parents up. We took them home and than told them that we were going for dinner and insisted that they came with us. Before picking up my parents from the airport I went to Swiss Chalet and had my plan put into action. When we all finnally arrived at the restaurant the waitresses brought out my parents' drinks which were served in baby bottles and their food on a kid's fish plate with a rattle on top as the garnish. I also color-cordinated both my parents items with blue for my dad and pink for my mom. The one thing I stressed beforehand was to deliver the drinks with the meals -- this is very important if you decide to to this so everything flows together. They were shocked! My mom looked at my dad and said were going to be grandparents. I did the exact same thing with my husband but I added a few extra things like a bib which the waitress put around his neck and a Snoopy toy to place beside his meal.

How cute is this!!!???? :thumbsup2 What a great way to share your happy news!!!

There is a Swiss Chalet in Cleveland? :confused3 They have GREAT chicken!

We gave the Grandparents a Christmas ornament that said "World's Best Grandma" or "Worlds Best Grandpa". My in-laws caught on right away since this was going to be their first grandchild. My side had a few grandkids already so they didn't get it, we had to tell them.

For the twins DS14 told everyone as soon as we walked in the door the first time we saw them after we found out. He was 2 and walks in taking off his coat "Mommy has a baby in her tummy". Kind of anti-climatic until a couple weeks later we found out it was twins and I called everyone and said that we were having twins.

For my first one I think I hid behind the couch when I told them. LOL

For my 4th I called my mom and said "ya know how you don't have anything filled in for April on your birthday board". It took her a few seconds but then she got it.

With my first I was so excited I called my mom immediately. She was in a bad mood (I could tell by the way she said, "hello") but I, breathless, said, "Mom". I guess it sounded like something was wrong and her voice changed and I said, "I'm going to have a baby." I can still remember the exact conversation to this day.

My favorite call was to my Nana. The baby was due on her birthday. I called her and said, "Hi Nana. I know what I'm giving you for your birthday." She said, "oh?", and I answered, "A baby! I'm pregnant and due on your birthday!" Well that was that! This was Nana's first great-grandchild and she was thrilled! A girlfriend of hers had been going on and on about how her granddaughter was pregnant. When they were together next time Nana said to her, "So Dot. Jennifer is having a baby. How nice. But is she having the baby on your birthday like Erin?" Till the day she died Nana referred to my dd as her "birthday present." The baby was born 5 days before Nana's birthday but Nana didn't care... She was on :cloud9: !

I was wondering if any of you would notice!

They are thinking of waiting until labor day. The family is having a big party, so I think she is going to incorporate some of these ideas into what she does. I'll let you know how it goes!

There's no Swiss Chalet in Clevlenad that I know of. I posted that story off of the mom to mom website.

Thank you all for your wonderful stories. You make me want to start trying! :teeth:

Can you handle one more?

We waited until my dad's b-day and made him a cake with "Happy Birthday Grandpa" on it. My mom got it right away and began to jump and scream. Dad was a bit confused. :rotfl:

With my DMIL and DSIL we told them we had good news and bad news. The bad news is that we couldn't go on vacation with them that next summer. The good news was that they were going to be a grandma and aunt. It was pretty low key.

DH's parents live on the other side of the country. We bought a grandparents picture frame and put a copy of the sonogram picture inside it. We bought "I love my Grandma" and "I love my Grandpa" coffee mugs. Wrapped them in a box and wrote on the outside of the box to call us before opening. Then, put that in a bigger box for shipping.
