Creative Uses of CS Credits

Looking over my itinerary for my may trip I am certain I will have extra CS credits. I read somewhere that you can use them at the bakery in France, that would good to get a couple of pastries. Does anyone know if you can get a coffee drink with your "meal" there?
Is there anywhere else like this I am not thinking of?

I read that you can buy a box of Entemenn's (sp?) doughnuts for 1 snack credit. The box comes with 8 regular sized doughnuts.

Just realized you are wanting ideas for CS not snack credits but still a good deal anyway. :)

I'm not sure what would be a "creative" use, because what I found is that the pastries at the bakery in France were a pretty poor use CS credits -- we ended up paying OOP for them, because they were such a poor value for CS credits.

hi that seems good value, where do you get these from???

Resort shops that carry food items often carry the entemann products.

We got them from the BoardWalk Screen Door General Store.

What I meant was I wanted to use some of my CS credits as snack credits. We have alot of TS breakfasts planned for oop and of course we will use our TS credits for dinner. On those days I have found that I just cant handle a whole cs meal too :)
So, to me getting 2 pastries is a better value than not using the credit at all :goodvibes

We did this exact thing last time we went and had like 12 leftover credits at the end of the trip. We were driving so we were going to DTD on the way out of town, so we went to Earl of Sandwich and order 12 sandwiches to take on the trip home. We chose things that would be good later cold like PB&J and Ham and Swiss. The CM's there were very helpful, suggesting good sandwiches and allowing us to substitute bottles of drinks for like two credits. Normally you can only get fountain drinks with the CS credits, but we were able to get 6 bottles of water or lemonade etc. instead so we could take it with us. This helped us a lot on the way home because we didn't have to stop and pay for dinner. We stopped at one of the rest areas and ate at a picnic table, plus had leftovers for a snack later. worked out great for us.

If you aren't driving or can't get to DTD, you could probably do something similar at your resort CS restaurant.

Thanks! That is a great idea! We are flying but it would still be nice to bring a sandwich for the plane.

I've read that at the Main Street Bakery in the MK, you can get 2 baked goods and a drink for one CS. I hope that's still true! We're going to be in the same boat as you, and I don't want our credits to go to waste!popcorn::

Oh I like this one! Do you think you think you can get the yummy ice cream sandwiches for a cs credit? Cuz you know, even if I can't handle a whole CS lunch, I can ALWAYS throw down a MSB ice cream sandwich :lmao:

Just remember you won't be able to bring the drinks through security. I'm sure you already knew this but I figured I'd throw a reminder out there for anyone who forgot (I know I have on occasion lol).

Thanks! I know this but I do forget. Last year on the way to Disney I accidently tried to bring on a very expensive brand new bottle of perfume. Doh! Dh had to put it in his backpack and go ALL the way back and check it. He was so annoyed at me!

for two cs credits we were able to get a 16" pizza, two salads, two drinks and two desserts from our resort food court late one night for a poolside snack :)

[and the leftover pizza and desserts made a great breakfast the next day!] ;)

They would probably let you exchange two drinks for one dessert, like they did the bottles. Whereever you go, just explain what you need and the CM's will usually try to help you as much as they can.

Sorry, but that's a violation of Disney's rules. Please don't advocate that on the DISboards.

In a case like this (pizza, salad & drinks), how would you know how many credits they would charge you? Do you have to just ask them? We'll be on the dining plan when we go in December and i'm curious about this one. Thanks.

Which resorts do this? It sounds like a good way to spend a rainy night while watching tv too. A family of 4 could share this easily too.

Slightly Goofy

We were able to get an ice cream sandwich from MSB for a snack credit. It was huge and easily shared.
