Creative Sketches by Becky Higgins - anybody have this

I saw an ad for it in a magazine and thought it might be helpful for me. Went to Michael's with my 40% off coupon and ... no book . Tried Hobby Lobby, Walden Books and JoAnn Fabrics all with no luck.

I even left Michael's empty handed! I should have looked for something else to spend my coupon on.

Anyhow, just wondering if anyone has one and if it was helpful and where did youget your copy from.

Love, love, love this book. I actually pre-ordered this book from Creating Keepsakes online because I love BH sketches and knew I would love this book. My LSS also carries it. I would highly recommend it. HTH

I LOVE mine, too!!! I got mine when it first came out at my LSS... they sold out of them that night. I use mine CONSTANTLY!! It's one of the best books I've ever purchased... if not THE best!!

In the meantime, you can do a search on twopeas. Someone has posted the sketches in the book (although I find the book more helpful... seeing actually pages done based on the sketches), but there are also several more pages of her sketches on there. Check the gallery!

Oh... and lots of people who use her sketches, will put "BH sketch" in the title of their layouts, so you will bring lots of those up, too.

Is this a hard back book or paperback? I have her Creative Companion and love it, and would like to look for this one, too.

This is a magazine. I actually perfer it to that book you're talking about. I didn't like the book and ended up putting mine on ebay... LOL!! This is a book of just her sketches. They picked several and show BH's layout along with reader's layouts. It's also divided up into number of pictures, so if you're doing a layout with like 8 pictures, you can turn directly to that section of the book. I think it was only like $14???

I love Creative Sketches..... Especially because you can do the same layout with different pictures and it looks totally different... It really helps me when I can't seem to be creative.

This is the only "idea book" I own.
I really like Becky's sketches.

I printed out several of her sketches that are posted on various message boards. I keep those sketches inside my idea book. I use her sketches all the time.

I did buy Lisa Bearnson's book when it was the Today's Special Value. I ended up putting it on ebay. I kept everything else that came with the kit though like the album and such. I ended up selling just the book itself on ebay for $30!! I only paid a few dollars more than that for the entire kit!

I copied the sketches from twopeas - but to have it in a larger size with examples would be great -

Is this one of the monthly magazines? Is this a special issue? Where can I order it?

It is a great book/magazine. I like all of the layouts done with each sketch - mostly because many of them do not exactly use the sketch - giving me more ideas on how to modify the sketches to my needs.

It came out probably 6-8 months ago so if your local Ms or ACM has sold out of it, they may not order anymore copies.

I bought the book (magazine) in April and I really love it. It was with the magazines at Barnes & Nobles. If they don't have it in, they will order it for you. It was around $14.00.

The absolute best idea resource I've ever seen or bought-- and that's saying something because my supply closet could rival just about any LSS!

I just wanted to let everybody know that I found a copy and if you are still looking to try Meijer.

I searched all our local bookstores, a LSS and Hobby Lobby - no luck. I happened to be in Meijer picking up a few things and they had them in a display at the end of the scrapbook aisle.

About the book / magazine - I LOVE it!!!!!! My pages are all beginning to look the exact same way and I was really getting bored with scrapbooking. Looking over the layouts using the sketches has really got me excited about scrapbooking again. As a matter of fact, I'm finally almost done with an album I started last year!

I'm really glad I spent the money on this!!
