Alright DIScreative minds. I’m making some birthday invitations for a little boy, and I need your help. The theme is Halloween, and we’re really picking up on the spider part of it (you know how little boys like spiders J ). He’s going to be 5 and I have a plan in mind as to how the card will look (which is flexible should something better come up), but I’m looking for a clever lead in (you know the front of the card where it usually says “You’re invited”), relating to the theme. I have NOTHING, so I can’t even start the brainstorming off……..

Any ideas?? I figure this is the best place to come for ideas!

Does the invitation have to be a card? Spray paint some styrofoam eggs or balls black. Use black pipe cleaners for the legs and googly eyes for the eyes. Then attach a small card someway with the date and time for the party.

That's a good idea Amid..... and no, it doesn't have to be a card (I don't think), but I am a stamper, so I tend to lean that way. :)

"I spy a party guy......"

"Scurry on over to ___'s 5th birthday party"

"Another birthday is CREEPING up on _______"

"It's ICKY! It's SPOOKY! IT'S ______'s 5TH BIRTHDAY!"

"Here's the SPIDER that sat down beside her! Celebrate _____'s birthday with us today!"

Maybe pretty corny and not what you are looking for but:

"Crawl/Spin on over to my web on __(insert day)___ at ___(insert time)___"

GREAT GINA!!

No, Disney845..... it's exactly what I'm looking for....... thank you!

oh I saw a really cool spider that you put in your yard it was REALLY big! Like the big santas that have a fan. KWIM?

Fishbone..a spider party idea.

get a treasure or small gift for each party attendee. Attach it to a long , long string of yarn and hide it....then go around the room unrolling the ball of yarn over this , under that, around that. Do one of these for each child...the room will look like a web when you are done. then give each child an end piece of yarn and tell them to follow the yarn or string...ask them to roll it up as them go. they will go over and under each other on their way to their treasures.

I hope I explained that ok.
