Creative autograph ideas?

I'm trying to think of something other than the typical autograph books for the kids to use on our trip this year. They both have several books and I'd like to come up with something a bit more unique.

DD did a pillowcase on the Disney Cruise one year and she still has it. Any other ideas like that? Thanks!

Characters will also sign things like a hat or a t-shirt (as long as you're not wearing it at the time). A good friend of mine once bought a fez from Morocco in Epcot and had all of the Aladdin characters sign it.

You could also buy a poster or something. Or you can do what I did - make your own autograph book and make it look all pretty. Sometimes if the character sees your name on the front, they'll write a personal message to you.

Over on the budget board someone posted a code for Oriental Trading. I was poking around their site and found make your own canvas drawstring bags. That would be really cool for the characters to sign.

I've read about people doing tote bags - like a canvas bag - I think that would be a cool souvenier to have. Something you would use a lot.

Another idea is a book of Disney stories with pictures of the characters - the character could sign on a page of the book where their picture is. Then when you read the book at home, you'll have the signature.

3 of my kids had the characters sign their hats like duckylady suggested. They used plain white bucket hats and colourful sharpie markers. The colourful hats not only protected my kids' heads while we toured, but they're also easy to display souvenirs. The hats were an especially big hit when dd7 wore hers to school for hat day!

We used photo mats for an 8x10 frame with a 4x6 picture. We didn't want every character's signature, but maybe next time I would gor for a larger frame. Also the characters signed in the same place on bother frames...my kids are 3 & 5 so maybe next time they will be able to tell the characters where they want them exactly. Also, the first Characters have a tendency to take a lot of space so I would suggest asking them to go a little smaller if they could (like the Snow White signature). The frames were on sale for 2.50 each and I got some onsale stickers and gems from Michael's...DD helped decorate the frames.

I love this for my now 12 year old.

In the past we have bought the WDW coloring book from the resort gift shop and had the characters sign a page that there picture is on. They sale one with characters and a princess one. They would use the book to color in as we waited or in resturants also.

I was thinking it might be fun to do pillow cases. I think it would be a nice way for my lil DS to fall asleep!

Thanks! Of course you could use a disney frame or something with larger frame sides. DD is 3 so I kept the decoration simple, but you could get into paints & markers. I was very surprised how well it turned out and will do it again for sure!

I made DS a photo autograph book on Snapfish and EVERYONE (from characters to CMs to other guests) LOVED IT!!! He got sooooo much attention from characters. I often apologized to people in line behind us because they spent so much extra time with DS looking through his book. Then they'd ask for the web site.

Characters love to find themselves or pretend to be mad if they didn't. Several characters just looked through and pointed out all of their friends. It was PERFECT!! I already have new ones on order for the next trip!

We used retractable Sharpies (I got a 12-pack for $2 thanks to the Budget Board!!), and we had each character sign with "their color" (i.e., Mickey was red, Donald was blue, etc.).

Thank you!! I'm a picture FREAK!! I knew I wanted to do this before our first trip, but I had to wait until we had character pics!

My daughter adds stickers to her autograph book. She always picks the books where the autograph is to go on one side and a photo slid into a pocket on the opposite side.

You could get a photo matte and have that signed by each of the characters and build a photo collage inside with several of the characters. I have seen one in a 20" frame and it looked pretty awesome.

We also have tons of half-filled autograph books and my daughter didn't seem to care for them after a while.

There's tons of character pics inside and we asked the characters to sign next to their picture. If there was not a picture of the character, the front and back inside covers were fine to use.

During the lines to meet characters, my daughter would look through the book to try to find the character we were going to meet. Since it's a dictionary, we also used it to teach her some new words.

It's a bit big, but not too bad.

I just can't talk this up enough!! Several characters pretended to remember DS. It was adorable! "Alysson" Wonderland told DS "Oh, of course I remember this...you've changed clothes!" Snow White actually did remember DS even before seeing his pictures (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2067238). If you want some GREAT interaction, I totally recommend a photo book!!
