Well, I thought I'd go ahead and cash out for $25 via paypal, since I can use that anywhere on my vacation, and it's 100 points less than the Disney Dollars, and they charged me $1.03 fee!!! Everybody's gotta figure out a way to get more money, even a reward site!!! :worried:

Which site charged you the fee--CR or Paypal? I just got a Paypal payment from CR and wasn't charged anything extra. I would determine where the charge came from and then email the appropriate site to find out why there was a fee.

It was listed as a transaction fee on my paypal webpage, so I'm assuming Paypal charged it, but I wish CR would have informed me of it. And I used the free transfer to checking account as my withdrawal option.

I have made 2 redemptions on CR thru Paypal and both times Paypal charged me a fee. Paypal always charges a fee so I expected that being a Paypal user.

Do you have a business account or a premium account? If you take eBay payments thru Paypal and you pay a transaction fee for them, you will also pay a fee for any other transaction.

Paypal charges a fee on all payments with a premier/business account; any account that can accept credit cards is a premier/business account.

I have also noticed this in the past. If you have a premier account that you might have used for larger transfers in the past (for eBay sales, etc)....then, you will be charged a fee.

I basically opened another PayPal account under my Yahoo e-mail address that I did not upgrade to a "premier" account. Now, I am not charged any fees when I collect from QR or CR. This account can only accept up to $500 per month in transfers...but, I never come close to that as I only use it for reward site stuff.

The only problem is that you cannot link to a checking/savings account that is already being used by another PayPal account. So...I have my original "premier" account linked to my checking and my new "regular" non-premier account linked directly to my ING savings.

How were you able to do that? ING Customer Service said that they could only link the account to a US checking account. I would LOVE to do this as it would save me the extra step in between.

You are not linking via ING...you are linking via PayPal.

My ING account is still linked to my checking account. When I signed up for my new "regular" Paypal account, I linked it....through the PayPal site....to my ING account. Paypal asks for a valid checking or savings account...and your ING account can be used for this.

You do, however, need to get into your ING account to find out what the routing number and account number is. You need to enter this info on the PayPal site to link it. You can do this by logging into your ING account and clicking on the link entitled "Direct Deposit Form for this Account". It is located on your "Account Details" page right under "Interest Paid in 2004" in the upper right section of the page. That form will show you your routing number and account number needed for linking your Paypal account.

So...if I go to PayPal....I can transfer money back and forth only between my PayPal account and my ING account. I linked these two accounts through PayPal.

Then....if I go to ING....I can transfer money only between my ING account and my regular checking account. I linked these 2 accounts through ING.

The link is through PayPal...not ING....that's why it works.

Hope this helps and that I didn't confuse you more...lol.

I agree on the paypal fee depending on which account you have. Paypal is trying to offer (us, as webmasters) quick, convenient ways to "pay everyone" which to me, seems like a way for them to bust someone and make them upgrade. I refuse to upgrade, they make enough with the credit cards, so I am limiting my payments to smaller transactions.
Also, if you ebay, you cannot list that you do not accept credit/debit cards via paypal if you select paypal as a payment method. They will send you a nastygram that if you offer paypal, you MUST accept credit and debit payments, hence upgrading your account.

Great idea! I would have never thought of that and I thought I was pretty good about getting all the pennies owed to me! Thanks!
