With our upcoming trip my troop has considered Trip Shirts. There is a local screenprinter who will waive the set up fee and do a one color design for us, with the shrist costing about $12 each.

Cool! But one problem.

We are not a fan of t-shirts in the hot-hot weather. Since we're going in June, I expect it to be steamy.

The girls looked throught the printer's catalog and fell in love with the spaghetti strap type tanks.

Well, ok for them ,but no possible way for the moms!!:o

The supply catalogs do not have a regualr tank top type for us "generous sized" moms. And the printer will not do a shirt that was not bought from her ( something about the chemicals on shirts off the rack that wwon't let the design adhere)

Somehow I know there has to be a way to design one on my computer and print it onto iron-on papaer and put the design onto our own shirts.

The style of the shirts may be different than the girls, but the color and design will still match.

Where can I find things to icorporate into the design? Can I use Disney charectors, since they will not be sold?

Help!!

I've done T-shirts long ago...there is some iron on stuff you can print on your printer and then put onto the shirt. Not sure about the copyright issues of the characters, tho. Have you looked at www.zazzle.com ? They have a Disney collection that can be put on tees, sleeveless tees, and those skinny strap shirts. Not sure how the price competes with you local guy, but you should take a look.

If you buy a software program with Disney images, you can use them for personal use. Technically, printing shirts for your whole troup may be pushing the bar a little bit, but you definitely won't have any legal problems. No one is going to say a thing since you're not making a ton of them or making any money off the deal. Images off the Internet are another thing. They aren't meant for personal use, unless it's specifically stated that they are (like images from a clipart site). I would probably buy one of the Disney clipart programs if I were you. It will help you with suggested designs, provide coordinating backgrounds, and probably even reverse the image for you when it prints.

The one big problem with iron-on decals is that they tend to run when wet. You have to get them out of the washing machine as soon as they're done and put them in the dryer. I've never worn a shirt with an iron-on decal to WDW, but you may have problems with the wet rides.
