I am in the process of creating a app for guests to use when they visit the Disneyland Resort.

This will not be the standard Wait Times app, but much more.

Please let me know what type of things you would like to see in a app when you visit the Disneyland Resort.

Everything will be taken into consideration and I may PM you for additional details.

I will also be looking for people to test the app before launch, so please let me know if you would have interest in testing it out.

Thank you

Nearby restaurants and their menus.
Nearby bathrooms.
Characters and likely places to see them or their fixed schedules.

Nice to have:
Nearby pressed penny machines
Hidden mickeys

I'd love to be a tester. We're not locals, but are APs and come down about 4 times a year or more.

I love the top 2 suggestions! Esp the restaurants. We went for the first time last year in IDK how many years and I still don't know where all the restaurants are.
and DS was diagnosed with a ton of food allergies, and I have a bunch of intolerances as well, it would be great to see where restuarants are and what they offer

Interactive map, with menus when you click on a Resturant, rides could have info, such as height requirements, length of ride, current wait time, etc.

I go a couple times a week and would love to test, but is it got g to be android or Apple?

I think it would be nice to have it similar to the what's around you app...so when you log in, it can tell where you are in the parks and list the nearest bathrooms, restaurants (with menus and ratings would be awesome too), attractions (with wait times, and fastpass return times) stores, etc. Maybe have alerts pop up for upcoming parades/shows for those who want to view or those who want to avoid the crowds.

We have APs but live in NorCal, so we only get down to the parks about 3-4 times a year. Would love to test it though :)

My perfect DLR app would include:

Wait times, ideally on a map and on a "close by" feature (bonus points for FP wait times as well!)

Bathrooms on a "close by" feature (bonus points for rating of the bathrooms based on niceness!)

Restaurants on a map and on a "close by" feature (bonus points for menus!)

Typical snack cart locations on a map and on a "close by" feature (bonus points for menus/items at snack cart!)

An alarm/reminder for upcoming FP windows

Show times for close by parades, shows, etc.

Map and close by notes for could be useful, like Baby Care Centers, lockers, etc.

Push notification when you are near something you want to try/buy/ experience. So if I want to do big thunder BBQ and get a silhouette I can set up ahead of time things I'm interested in and I get a ping when I'm nearby or reminders throughout my trip of what I want to do that I haven't done yet.
Can you make a new grocery store app for me too because I hate grocery shopping and I have an idea that might make it better for me :)

How about including attraction trivia when you are nearby. Example: When you walk by Tarzan's Treehouse, a pop-up will give a little known fact about the attraction. This feature should have lots of trivia so you get new stuff every time you pass by. You should also be able to turn it OFF when you don't want the notifications.

I love the restaurant menu and location idea also! That would be so helpful!

The ability to set alarms/reminders would be great. (I never managed to get to the Visa M&G because I kept forgetting to go while they were open!

Photopass photographer locations.

Character locations and times.

Special event or activity alerts.

DAS return time reminders.

Menu look up. For instance, "I want a cream cheese filled pretzel. Where can I find this?"

A place to store confirmation/reservation numbers.

A way to set up a touring plan or schedule of sorts.

The ability to store notes about an attraction, restaurant, event, etc... Did I like it, hate it, want to try again?

The ability to create a souvenir or shopping list.

I will be going several times this year and would love to be a tester.

Would be great if it had offline content too- data charges for overseas visitors can be enormous!

I really like what Josh does for WDW at EasyWDW. He provides Disney's posted wait times(not sure how he does this), and also provides what your "expected" actual wait time would be in line.

EasyWDW.com/waits/

Notification on if a ride is down and or when a ride opens back up. Failing that Easy access to Otto's number. Can you direct dial from an app? I would be happy to test it if I am going when it is ready. :) There are some great ideas here.

I'm a Passholder and go often. These are my suggestions.

Ride Wait Times for both parks Restaurant and Snack Cart locations (sorted by land, so if we plan to be in Fantasyland at lunch time we know where to eat). You could put a R next to the restaurants that require reservations. Also menus for each restaurant.

Show schedule for parades, fireworks, Fantasmic, World of Color, stage show like Mickey and the Magical Map or Aladdin, flag ceremony, Disneyland band, etc Character locations and times

Photo pass photographer spots

Restrooms location

Park hours for upcoming week, for those on multi day tickets. Also Downtown Disney store and restaurant hours and menus. That would be awesome.

Maybe even play Classic Disney songs according to page (Zip ah dee do doh for critter country, yo Ho for New Orleans Square, Soarin music for Condor Flats, when you wish upon a star for fantasyland, Life is a highway for Cars Land (Rascal Flatts version) etc)

Hidden Mickey map, pin locations for trading pins and pin sales, and pressed penny machines.

Rides that have fast passes and fast pass return times. That's all I can think of for now!

1. When first opening the app. a quote from Walt welcomes you or a special fact about Walt. This could be done in a pop up window or even an audio message

2. A feature like Waze has that shows you who else in the park is using the app as well. Their own avatars can pop up on the map wherever they are.

I will be in Disneyland March 31st - April 4th, I wouldn't mind testing it. :hourglass

Along with restaurant menus, how about reviews?
And whatever specialty/limited time items are currently being offered?
It could be set up like Yelp where users can write the reviews.

When you are in a shop, how about a notification of any specialty or limited time items?

Obviously a map with restaurants and bathrooms but to set it apart more of something that is interactive with your personal vacation. I like the idea of push notifications when near something you want and alarms for fast pass times. Perhaps even a build your itinerary section with show times included so you can build your day that morning or night before. (note I stated night before not 60-180 days before! No thank you wdw lol)

Also love the idea of fun facts to bring in the history of DL! Like year ride was built or what is was designed after etc.

Also very important would be excellent graphics with background music!

I like all the posts above. I would like to second or third the Restaurant availability. Wait times if possible as well. So if I am near a restaurant I can just check and see how long the wait is and decide where I want to go based on that info (we usually just wing it and don't make reservations ahead of time).

If possible, it would be nice to know when the park reaches capacity or how full the park is on any given day (and time). I may just sit out at the hotel a while longer and have the kids swim or take a nap instead of going back to the park if it is a 8 out of 10 day, or maybe if we for sure want to go back and we know it is close to capacity we can skip swimming and go right back to the park so we don't get locked out.

I would love to test this app if possible. I have an Android device and go probably 4 or 5 times a year. Thanks!
