Create Your Own Mickey Ears?

I know they have a "Create Your Own Mickey Ear Hat" place that's been there for a while now. Has anybody done it before? Can you explain the process of it. More specifically, when they are applying the patches (if you want one), do they iron it on or sew it on? Have you seen the cast members apply the patches?

I'm sure they have a machine that does it. Similar to the one that sews on your name

It like an iron machine but the CM does operate it. The patches are like stickers at first, you stick them on the ears and the the iron/CM seals them on with the ironing machine

I bought ear hats from the Mad Hatter in FantasyLand and I didn't see this version. The only machines they had were 3 sewing machines. I was there at the beginning of this month.

I believe this was discontinued in early June 2011. We were there while they were taking down the displays and selling all remaining inventory on clearance.
