create character before signing up for tour?

Hi! I missed out on creating a character the last time we were at DL, but we're probably going back soon b/c DH is obsessed with VMK and wants to do the tour. Do you have to have your character created already before you sign up for the tour? I want to create mine at the park, but will create one now if I have to.

You do not have to even play VMK to be on the tour, so you can wait to create your character if you wish.

You better go soon. I'm not entirely sure they are even still doing the tour. There have been some other threads about this, but I'm not sure what the final outcome is. Seems as if instead of the tour, you just get the extra cards.

Plus make sure you get as far as clicking the "Agree" button when creating an in-park account. I made 3 accounts for some friends and much to their disappointment, I didn't wait to see the "Agree" button, so while the accounts exsisted, they were not registered as, "Born In Park" peeps.

My bad friends.. no black ears.

yeah, I know. The last time we went, all of the terminals were full, so I couldn't get on one to make a character. DH informs me that you can purchase black mickey ears...is there anything (other than the coveted "born in park" tag) that you can't get by either purchasing or trading that you get by being born in the park? I wouldn't want to miss out on something later down the road.

sorry to be obsessing over this so much, but I watch DH play minigames all night, and want to test out my mad skills (or lack thereof!)...

You can't purchase black ears for the character. When you purchase
ears (I bought mine at the hat shop in Town Square), they will give you
the card with code for golden Mickey ears for your VMK character.

You get rooms and black ears when you go to Innoventions (I'm talking about
DL here for those with WDW on the brain) and create a new character
'born in the park'. You can trade the black ears to your main character,
which is what I did when I created characters at WDW.

I went to DL in July and hadn't created a character. I couldn't even do the
tour. (I made sure I did both when I went to WDW a few months later.)
