Crazy to consider MNSSHP and MVMCP in the same trip?

Hi all-

Originally we were planning MNSSHP the last weekend of Oct '15 as we just did our first MVMCP in Dec 2014. DS9 has been 2x to MNSSHP but DS5 went when he was little and doesn't remember it. Looking at airfare etc and time off from school (no flames please) it would be the same price/time if we go Oct 28-Nov 4 OR Oct 31-Nov 9. Anyone do both parties back to back before? We would do the Nov 1 and Nov 8 dates. Will the resorts/parks have the Christmas decor up already? Crowds as I think it is Jersey week and FD? We thought MVMCP last year was so-so vs MNSSHP (we LOVE) and it was COLD (for FL) but DS5 LOVED MVMCP and is asking to go again. We have APs so cost difference will be mostly for the MVMCP tickets. If we can see the Osbourne lights at DHS and also some Christmas decor at the parks that will tip the scale to do both parties. Any experiences TIA!

Sorry have not done both on same trip. Sounds like a great idea to me.Both I feel are great events.I prefer MVMCP to MNSSHP but I am in minority on this issue.Would be such magical memories for him and entire family.I say go for it..

We just did this for our last trip and LOVED it!!!!! We were there from Oct. 30th to Nov.7th last year. We arrived on the 30th, unloaded at the hotel and headed straight for MNSSHP. We did another MK day about half way through the trip and most of MK was already decorated for Christmas. We attended the 1st MVMCP and it was amazing. We left the next day and were unable to see the Osbourne lights since it wasn't running yet. At that point in time, MK was really the only park decorated for Christmas, but like I said we left the day after the 1st party, so didn't have time to see when others started their Christmas decor. I honestly loved seeing the transition from Fall to Christmas at MK. We will def. be doing this again!!

Do it!!! We are going for nine nights 10/24-11/2. I totally wish I'd booked the trip 10/31-11/8 or 11/9 to get both Halloween and a little bit of Christmas! We went in December last year and our daughter is already asking to see the castle all lit up!

More crazy not to consider doing both parties, lol! I haven't done it yet, but definitely would if I could! How fun would that be?! So I say definitely do it if you can! That'll be one fun holiday season, so Have a great time!

We did it in 2013 and it was awesome! We did the last Halloween party on arrival night and the first Christmas party the night before we left. I started looking into the possibility because DS11 wanted to do Halloween and DS15 wanted to do Christmas. So both boys (and both parents lol) were thrilled we were able to work this out! Who wouldn't want two magical holiday experiences in one trip?! I would do it again in a heartbeat.

We are going to Halloweentime in Disneyland in Sept, then to WDW for Food & Wine in November. We booked the Christmas party. Osborne Family Lights open that same weekend so I'm happy we'll be able to see that.

That's a lot of Disney!

I planned our next trip specifically so we can do both MNSSHP and MVMCP. Hubby told me to plan a fall trip, to go with one of the parties. I did a bit of investigating, and found a great price on airare that 'just happened' to work so we could do both parties, I mentioned it to him and the next thing I know, we were booked. We have AP's too, so staying a couple days longer is costing almost the same since we were able to travel home on a weekday instead of on the weekend (saving $$ on airfare). We are going Oct. 31- Nov. 10th. MNSSHP on Nov. 1 and MVMCP on Nov. 8th. The Christmas decor will (I expect) be up in MK, but probably not in the resorts for the first party. Yes, it's Jersey Week, but I think the dates may have been exempted from FD.

We did both in one trip in 2012. We did MNSSHP the last week of october, before our wedding, then went on a cruise on the dream, and came back for a week in the parks and did MVMCP. It was neat to see the changeover from Halloween to Christmas in the parks for sure.

I think it sounds lke an awesome idea. I was going to try to do MVMCP & MNSSHP for this trip, but it we weren't able to. I ended up having to book later in the month. This will be our first MVMCP, but we did MNSSHP last year, and I loved it.

We did both in 2013. It was fun to go from Halloween to Christmas in one week! It really kicked off a holiday feel for us. I will say that we preferred the Halloween party much more, if you had to only do one.
