Crazy to compare! But Pop or WL? Help me decide.

Hello Disboard friends,

I am having a dilemma. Where would you stay. I know its hard to compare but we have stayed at others before and wanted to try out something different. We will be going in December. Help a girl out. Thanks!! =)

Apples to oranges. I woukd stay at the WL any day over Pop but it's your budget you must consider.

Thanks everyone. Well I can't do a split stay because we want to do the dining plan. If not we are going to stay at the Wilderness Lodge with the FL. Resident discount. Thanks for your opinions. Much appreciated. =)

We have stayed at both resorts and while POP was a fun, cute resort, it has NOTHING on the WL. The WL is a vacation within a vacation. It is so relaxing and beautiful and a really nice break from the parks, so much so that on our 11 day trip last month, we spent 2 days just bumming around and our kids were perfectly fine with that!!! And in December?? C'mon!!! There is no choice here...WL all the way!

WL would be my pick. It's definitely pricey though. I don't like the thin walls, bus service, and parking situation at POP.

We're supposed to be @ The World right now, but an unexpected illness forced us to postpone the trip three days before we were to leave, and as a result, no Mods were avail, and we decided if we are postponing, we are rewarding ourselves and upgrading to WL (our first Deluxe,) rather than downgrading to POP (only other property we've stayed at,) and, since our trip at POR was already paid for.

Anyway, with that being said, I will give you my usual logic on this discussion. I can typically stay at POFQ for about half what a Deluxe would cost. So I always come back to the question, would my kids prefer going TWICE, or prefer to stay in a really nice hotel once. And you can probably guess the answer to that question, and frankly, I'd rather go twice too!

Now, given that we are going to WL for the first time, in Nov, I suspect my opinion may change...but just another idea to weigh when you are considering.

I can't speak for other dates, but in May with the 30% promotion, we were able to rebook from POFQ to WL for a few hundred dollars more. Since the update to POFQ, discounts at POFQ have been dismal compared to other resorts.

Yes and since it's smaller, it hasn't been included in FD. Still love it, but for price diff, will be hard not booking DLX from now on (which I'm sure was their plan all along!)
