Crazy stories at disney world

bump for people to add posts.

I must admit that I am the one who made this "scene" at the World. Of course, I didn't start, but I certainly ended it.

A little background is needed to set up the situation. I am a retired soldier who goes to the World every year. I also have very set and strict ideas on how children should respect their elders as well as being well behaved in public. I have little tolerence for children who act up or disrespect adults. Well, on this particular trip, my brother, his wife, sister-in-law and his blended family of six teenagers (rather out of control teens) were along on vacation. Now, they don't have a lot of money and it took several years of saving to be able to go on this trip. On our very first night we were at MK and were leaving after the evening EMH. They all decided that, in this massive crowd leaving the park ... including a lot of young children ... that it was a good time to start fighting with each other, cursing at each other as well as yell and cursing out their parents (including the dreaded "F" word) ... at the top of their lungs.

All the way out of the park and on up to the monorail I was biting my tongue so hard I thought it would bleed. I was waiting for the parents to say something ... anything! Once we got to the top and were waiting, I went into this spiel about how lucky they were and that they should be thankful they were able to be here and to act appropriately. Then I asked if they realized how hard their parents worked to bring them. That's when it came ... the challenge!

One of the kids ... and I don't even know which one ... said very loudly and very clearly, "I didn't ask to come to this f###ing place." OK, get ready for it ... I lost complete control. My Army sergeant voice came out and I lit into them for at least 10 minutes with both barrels. I don't even remember what I said. All I know is that, when I was done, it got very quiet.

The kids spent the rest of the way back to the hotel (which includes a 15 minute walk from the monorail up to the hotel) in complete silence. Then they were pretty good for a couple days. And when one of them started to act up again, one of the others said, "You better shut up before Aunt Jane goes off again." :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yay, good for you! :thumbsup2 Btw, noticed you're from Ellicott City - I went to Centennial High for 6 months :)

My story happened at the Animal Kingdom when we were in line to see Goofy at Camp Minnie Mickey. It was a crowded day, but we were in line close to where the gate was for Goofy to come and go but not quite up to the front yet. We have two small children, they were 6 and 2 at the time, and thankfully they didn't notice when goofy went to take his quick break. As he went through the gate he took his head off just after he went through the gate and the CM with him had not closed it. So there we were in plain sight of a headless goofy:scared1:. My husband, myself and the man in front of us with his children were the only people who noticed. I know my older son was old enough to know that the characters were real people, but my younger son would have had alot of questions.

Tell your great aunt I said "HOO-AH!!!!

My story is kinda happened at Disney but I'm going to post anyway! Went to to Disney in Sept of 2008. We had never been in the fall only done spring trips but it was free dining so I was able to talk my hubby into another trip even as we had just been in May. Hubby said this would be the last Disney trip for a few years so I wanted to make sure it was wonderful. After I booked and had all planned I realized that it was hurricane season and I started to freak out!!!! I was glued to the weather channel for weeks, well time came for our trip and hurricane Ike had just went thur the gulf so we were in the clear for our trip.
On our first day we went from the plane to AK so I had to call all my family from the parks. When I tried to call I got really funny messages like no service - line busy- ect... Then I got a voice mail from my sis it was really broken up but hurricane Ike was now a strong storm that hit OHIO!!!! We had major damage to our house!! The power was out for a week, my dog that I had put out in the yard so my sis could pick up after work to watch was gone as we no longer had a fence!! (we did find her)
So here I spent all the time worrying about a hurricane in Disney and it hits Ohio!:rotfl:

Two stories from our trip last December. We are coming back from the Magic Kingdom after wishes on the bus. The driver had to take a different route due to an accident. We are driving down the road when the bus comes to an abrupt stop. After a short pause, the driver drives over the grass median to get to another lane. After this there is silence on the bus, most people are wondering did that really happen. When we get off the bus there is turf jammed under the front door.

We are watching the parade at the Magic Kingdom, I look over and my wife is taking pictures. Only problem is we only have one camera and I have it in my hand. Some very excited woman from Brazil is reaching around from behind, and has the camera right in front of my wife’s face. My wife turns around to look at her and her friend tells the woman to stop taking pictures “because she is looking”. What they don’t realize is that my wife is of Portuguese background, and can understand everything they are saying.

So I have a self serving story- I was asking my friends for a crazy story and one brought up a "remember when" and i said yep but that wasn't crazy and then they told me the end of the story which I was involved in but had never heard and made me tear up so here it is my self serving story..

A group of my friends and I were at WDW, all female and all between 27-35 at the time. Of course as a good Disser- I had bought glow in the dark necklaces and braclets at the Dollar store and we were covered in them! :cool1: As we were standing chit chatting and waiting for the night parade, I heard a young girl probably 7 or 8 ask her mom for a glow in the dark toy, the mom tells the little girl that she is sorry but she just doesn't have any money left...hearing this I walk over and ask the mom if I can talk to her daughter, the mother gave me a funny look but says sure. I ask the daughter if she is a true princess and the little girl says oh yes, I asked her if she knew the princess wave and she said no, so I taught her the wave, after we practiced a couple of times and she had it, I told her wow she was a princess and she needed a glow in the dark necklace so I took two of mine off and put them on her... as I walked away I heard her ask her mom if I was Ariel :rotfl: this is funny because even though I had long red hair at the time, I am 165 pounds enough to be two Ariels :goodvibes.

My story ends there but the part that I never knew that my friend told me when I was asking for crazy stories was as I was walking a way the mom answered " I'm not sure but what I do know is that was a true princess"

I have had a few Disney moments in my life but none that have made me feel like I was the princess...hearing this brought tears to my eyes- So that is my self serving Disney story that if it wasn't for this thread I would have never known

That is the sweetest story ever. Honestly, that choked me up. I know it killed you when you heard the rest of the story. :goodvibes

OMG THANK YOU!!! I was thinking I was in the minority with this one. You don't have to have a disability to understand that this CM was beyond wrong and insensative in her words and actions. The people who brought the assistive dog had EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO and just because it was a hot day why should there vacation be ruined by being forced to stay at the hotel instead of going to the park. There are GAC's FOR A REASON and I utilize this for my autistic daughter. People look at us like "she can walk, why are THEY using the disabled entrance" I say take my daughter for a few hours (hell ONE hour) and see how difficult it is for her to do the simplest thing like waiting in line or dealing with crowds or loud noises at times. She loves going to Disney but she occasionally needs the special assistance in these area's and NOBODY should ever judge unless they are in that situation. How dare ANYONE think that we have a 'sense of entilement' Nobody WANTS to be disabled in anyway and if the Disney folks allow for special entrances who are YOU to dispute it?!?!?!?

One time we were leaving DHS and our DD was having an epic meltdown (for reasons still unknown) we could not get her on the bus for the hotels and everyone was staring (I was not upset at this because people were just wondering what was going on with this little girl) the beautiful thing was the person in charge of the bus area came over and I started to cry because I had NO idea how I was going to get back to our hotel. She called for a van and we were driven to our hotel door to door. I thanked them both over and over for not only providing us with the ride but for being so understanding and non-judgemental! :cloud9: do I feel a sense of entilement no, just relief!!!!

In regards to the original story that started this debate. OH MY GOSH!!! I am only halfway through reading this thread and cannot believe how many people are arguing about this. From reading the original post, it angered me because it is a LIE!!! SHE MADE IT UP!!! How can anyone seriously believe this occurred? If it were true, BUT IT ISN't, of course the CM is at fault. FIRST, No CM rude or not, would be that blatant about it. I was a CM for 6 years and interacted with thousands of them, NEVER encountered one like that. Next, ABSOLUTELY NO FREAKING WAY, is a manager going to tell you he has had previous issues with an employee OR that they will be disciplined, let alone terminated!

Again...THIS STORY IS MADE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, My son is autistic and we use a GAP. I am not questioning the persons need for assitance, I agree with that. I am unhappy with the poster making up a story and using a person with disabilities as the subject!!

I was in shock and then I started tearing up...me,I was a part of the Disney magic for someone...It makes me want to stand up and cheer:cheer2:

Let's get back to the original topic of this thread and end the arguing back and forth here. Any further arguments will be deleted and may result in infractions being issued.

Regardless of how you feel, please drop it, I don't want this thread to be closed, there are so many great stories on here and I want to hear more.

I would like to share a story that is not mine but I dont see my friend posting it so I have to do it. My friend was on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. They stopped at that smoking outcove by the Jungle Cruise. They were sitting and suddenly a duck ran in and stopped in the middle, than another ran up behind it and they "shared a moment", than ran out. My friend said everyone was sitting there silent with their mouths open, than all began to laugh.

Sorry J if I beat you to posting this; but I couldnt resist.

So there we were, drinking from our resort refillable mugs, soaking in the fountain behind the castle to cool off, throwing pennies at Brazilian tour groups, when this lady comes up to us and starts yelling at us,
I just took a swig from my beer helmet, blew smoke in her face and told her to get lost.
I mean, really, we had our bathing suits on, and towels draped over the edge to dry off, so it's not like any rides were going to get wet!

Two stories for now:

We went to Disney with my brother and my inlaws a few years ago. My brother and my husband decided to go ride EE in AK. I was with my inlaws and my son. After a while, they suggested I go ride EE too and they'd watch my son. I went in the single rider line and was put in the car directly in front of my husband and brother. So my brother and I switched places. I thought it was pretty funny that they waited for over an hour and I just showed up and 15 minutes later was the only single rider taken for that spin around and was put with them.

Also, my favorite disney story is from when we drove when I was a child. We kept seeing the same van on the whole drive down from NJ to Orlando. It had a big personalized tire on the back. When we finally went to Disney (about a week after we left, we stopped at a lot of places), we randomly ended up parked next to that van. It was Christmas week, so it was quite the coincidence.
