Crazy stories at disney world

One year I went on ToT by myself as my wife wouldn't ride and the kids were too small. Well a young couple in line with me were talking to me and asking how scary it was etc. The girl was extremely good looking. Well on the ride she was scared out of her wits. She was sitting between me and her boyfriend. She actually held on to my arm tightly through the entire ride. I swear she held me more than her boyfriend. It was funny and stange but she was really scared. So when I get off the ride I go look at the pictures and there I am with this really cute girl holding my arm. Needless to say I didn't buy the picture. Not sure my wife would have liked it.

That makes me sad.... I hate people that cannot escape into Disney... if you want to act like that in normal life go for it, in disney, Respect where you are, and everyone else vacationing.

A funny story....Our last day this past December we decided to go to MK (The ME was due to pick us up at 4:45pm). The girls wanted to go on Splash but DH and I kindly insisted that it would be a bad idea since we are leaving to go on the plane later and we did not want to be wet. Well, that day had an overcast look to it, but we were not worried. That was until we got to BTMRR and I felt a slight chill in the air, which I did not think much of it since it was early December. Then as we got onto the train (seated the last 2 rows of the car) I had noticed some rain drops on the seat, which I had thought...Hmmm it must of started drizzling. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!! As we were climbing the decent and just after the parted rainfall we heard tons of screams coming from the front of the car, we couldn't understand why except we thought we had a loud but fun bunch with us.....until we got outside. There was a MONSOON that had decided to hit us. We got soaked. Everyone was screaming and laughing at the same time. Well, as we got back to the station, the people who were waiting to get on after us all decided to leave, then you hear the CM getting on the PA and saying "BTMRR has now become a water ride" ...after that, we all decided that since we are already wet, that we would ride Splash, which we ended up doing twice in a row because there was only a 5 minute wait.

Normally, I make my way through the stores to avoid the crowd, but on this day CM's were directing incoming guests BACKSTAGE to bypass Main Street and we came out near the Noodle Station. Various CM's from the shops were at their backdoors to wave at us. Anyone else had this experience?

Last May, we got on the resort monorail. It was dark and the monorail wasn't very crowded. The cm's helped a lady in an ECV into our section of the car. I don't know if she was traveling with family or not, but she was alone that night. She was really hesitant and nervous driving up the ramp and stopped once she got inside. Her ECV was sticking out the back and the doors couldn't close, so the cm told her to pull up more. For some reason, she pushed the bar all the way. They hadn't closed the exit doors yet, so she went flying off the monorail with one set of wheels on the monorail and the other set on the concrete. My husband hopped up and lifted the ECV back onto the monorail for her. Thankfully she wasn't hurt. I had to bite my lip the whole ride trying to keep my composure and as soon as she got off, my husband and I just looked at each other and busted out laughing. I bet that was the most thrilling thing she rode all day.

This happened to us a few years ago. I thought it was an interesting way to bypass Main Street. While interesting, the views are not as nice as Main Street.

That almost happened to my aunt when she was on an ECV!! Luckily she got it under control and they closed the doors on the other side of the monorail! Those ECV's are really hard to control sometimes!!

Our story isn't really strange, but kinda funny. DH and the kids wanted to do Buzz Liteyear, so they headed over while I stopped to get FP's for Space Mountain. It starded drizzling so i hung back under the covered walkway (somewhere in that area) DH was motioning me to hurry up from across the courtyard(?) I motioned back to wait just a second, I was slowly making my way beside people in line (telling them I wasn't line cutting sorry, just trying to stay dry) well, DH is getting impatinet now so I decide to just run for it.

I step out from under the walkway, get halfway across the open area and the sky opens up. It literally went from tiny drops to a deluge. I'm standing there, soaking wet. The downpour lasted about 2 minutes, and I'm just standing there dumbfounded in the rain. It was so odd, all I could do was laugh. Then in a loud voice DH said "If you're done taking a shower, come on" and everybody laughed. Needless to say I didn't ride Buzz in the frigid a/C. A CM in the store (near the TT) saw it, brought me a towel, called one of his friends that worked in the emporium and sent me over. They gave me the towel, a t shirt and shorts from the Emporium.

I have a few...but a feel good one is when we had my dd then maybe 4 yrs old in Epcot. We were in world showcase strolling along when we came across a rotund man with a long white beard with a red shirt and suspenders, well, Becky just kind of froze in place for what seemed like an eternity. The man smiled down at her, handed her a card without a word and strolled away. The card said "you hav just met the real Santa Claus". So, I said, "well, I guess Santa liks to vacation in Disney World too!"

Last week we saw Santa and Mrs. Claus at Kona having dinner! He had the little round glasses and everything! My DD wanted to run after him and ask if Rudolph was at WDW on vacation, too. It really made the kids' day to see Santa and the Mrs. on vaca, too.

So this one time I ran into a group of blind brazillians wearing fanny packs. They were all pooh sized men and the were kissing each other. They all had dogs, ecv's and wheelchairs and wanted to cut the line. Oh and I think they may have also been rednecks.

Seriously folks, we need to stop getting offended by everything. Fact is we are all different but some differences aren't seen as much. It's hard for someone without a disability to even know how to act around disabled people. We get mixed messages. In one instance we are applauded for helping a blind person navigate some scaffolding. But in another we are reprimanded for offering to help them in a strange public restroom. Someone that looks strange to us may get angry when we stare, but others get angry when we look away. Some like to talk about their disability and some get mad if you mention it. If a kid says something wrong in front of or to a disabled person it may be the first time they've seen it. Maybe us good parents will discuss it with them later. We certainly don't start talking about it in front of the person.

My point is only that if you are not exposed to something very often it doesn't mean you are ignorant because you don't know about it.

Last Oct, we planned a special trip and included my parents in the trip. My mother loves Donald, so we planned a breakfast at Tusker house. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our reservation time. When we got there, we were confused by the long line...we'll that was the start of a "crazy" meal...it took 40 minutes just to check in with the receptionist. It took another hour to get our seats.

However, that said, once inside, the staff was truly awesome...however, they were all like "deer caught in the headlights"...the place was packed and people (lots of people) were angry (lack of food, drink refills, just want to get my bills, etc.) At one point, a man was standing in the buffet area yelling "I want to see an f***ing manager now"...again, again and again...very crazy...

Again, the staff was doing their best...apparently, it's normal to overbook reservations because many people never show up...we'll, not on this day...everyone came and they were hungry and impatient...

'08,I was running a couple of minutes late for my First ADR at Biergarten in WS - Germany. I knew were it was so I walked up to the counter and gave them my name. They didn't have my name! But I had my confirmation number for a 12:30 lunch at Biergarten! The CM (real nice girl) polite says "Sir this is Askerhaus."

This isn't really a "crazy" story (in fact, I haven't gotten to the parks at rope drop very often so it may be a regular, daily occurance haha), but it's definitely something I'll always remember.

My mom and I were at Disney world a few years back before Expedition Everest officially opened. It was Spring break, and we had heard that they were doing soft openings of EE and we wanted to ride it!

We headed over to Animal Kingdom pretty early, and there are tons of people waiting for the rope to drop. As soon as it did, it was pure chaos! Everyone took off running straight for EE. We didn't know it was going to be like this, but as soon as it happened we took off running too along with the crowd. There were so many dads running their strollers as fast as they could, and I was just hoping that none of the kids got tipped over! We just thought it was the funniest thing to watch not only the teenagers, but the adults, and the parents running as fast as they could with the strollers!

Despite our quick pace, people were running/flying/zooming past us and I became a little concerned. "Um, Sir, those people are all running past us". I LOVED his reply (and wish I had him there for every opening): "Don't worry, NOBODY'S getting on that ride before you do".

While all the runners crammed into line like sardines, our group was led right past them to ride the first ride of the day all by ourselves.

We've also been picked as Blizzard Beach FOTD. That was even better.

This was a bit crazy. It happened on Disney Cruise Line. I still when I think about it.

It was nighttime and we were sleeping. A knock on our stateroom door woke us up. We had no idea who it could be. As my DH went to open the door, I glanced at the clock. It said 2am.

As my DH opened the door, I heard him say our son's name in disbelief. Our DS (9 at the time) was sleepwalking out in the hallway. DH pulled him in as DS mumbled something about "going up to see the sunrise".

Thereafter we blocked the door with luggage and slept a little less soundly. We still tease him about it, saying it's a good thing he didn't do a Peter Pan off the side of the ship.

When we were at ASMu in March, a DAD on the bus was telling me how he was there with his daughter who was a cheerleader and he saw a few softball teams, but come on, "no one wants to look at softball players, they arent hot like cheerleaders". I was floored!

OMG. This happened to me one time, not at Disney, but walking through a haunted house with some friends right before Halloween several years ago. This hot girl that I didn't know was pretty much clutching my arm the whole time. I'm just thankful that her boyfriend either didn't notice or didn't care.

DH and I were on an adult’s only trip. We had spent the evening at Pleasure Island and were waiting for the bus back to the YC. The bus pulls up; we get on and so do this other couple. They were probably in their early 40’s and absolutely stinking drunk. It’s just the four of us on the bus and the whole ride back he is ranting and raving at her and she is crying. It was a long bus ride back. We finally arrive at the resort and let them off the bus first. They head toward the lobby still ranting/crying; we decide we have had enough of them and take the long way around to our room. Once in our room we pour some wine and head out to our balcony overlooking the boat dock to relax. Who do we see but our ‘friends’ from the bus stumbling down the path stopping at the bench across from the boat dock? He is still ranting and she is still crying. From what we could hear of his shouted remarks, his current gripe is how she only cares about his possessions and not him. So he yells something like ‘You can’t have them. Let’s start with the car’ and proceeds to pull his car keys from his pocket, do a big windup and throws the keys into the lagoon. DH and I are like frozen in our seats, afraid to move. Then he yells ‘Let’s get rid of it all’ and pulls his wallet from his pocket. At this point, we are both mumbling under our breaths ‘Don’t do it. Don’t do it.’ But you guessed it, into the water went the wallet. DH and I just stared at each other open mouthed. At this point, he seemed to have lost some steam and wondered off toward the BW. She sat on the bench for a bit and then headed back to the YC lobby. For DH and I, it was the preverbal train wreck where you just couldn’t look away. We always wondered if he remembered what he did with his keys/wallet when he sobered up.

My hubby just said he's gonna bring his scuba gear next time we stay at the YC.

LOL this exact thing happened to me, I was riding alone for the same reasons and the woman beside would grab my hand on every drop, then start to apologise when we were going up and grab my hand again on the way down. LOL

In addition to our Disney Collection, Judy and I had built up a fairly large Flamingo collection. One year we were visiting Discovery Island and saw this most fantastic flamingo hat for sale, so we bought it.

When we got to the Flamingo Pond I asked Judy to stand near the side of the walkway and put on the hat, so I could take a picture of her with the flamingos.

Almost immediately after she put on the hat, all the flamingos ducked their heads. Judy felt that she had managed to embarrass the entire flock.

Later on we found out that flamingos will post four sentries to warn them of any problems. Judy was at a location where she was considered a sentry, so the flock felt that it was safe for them to all go to sleep. So Judy is the only person I know of who ever was officially considered a flamingo by the members of a flock. (You can see another "sentry" in the center standing in back.)
