So... Even though my DH had a good Christmas, we were disappointed b/c after years of trying we thought that we were preggo. Huge disappointment when it didn't happen...so to get ourselves out of the slump we are planning a Disney vacation for a weekend, yes a weekend. Crazy right?? We will leave on a Friday night, then come back late Monday night bc it is Family Day Weekend. I figure that people go to Vegas for the weekend, why not Disney?? It is actually going to be a cheap vacation since our flights are covered with reward points, and we are staying at our timeshare. Only expense is Disney tickets and car rental, which we also have a 1 free day to use up as well. But it is crazy right?? :smickey:::MinnieMo

Not crazy at all! Sorry for your disappointment....I am sure you will have a fabulous time! :goodvibes

I was thinking about doing the very same thing for the very same weekend with my family! BUt considering we are already going March 4-12 I thought going a month before for just a weekend was overkill. This said, it was a way cheaper vacation than anything else I was looking at like Bahamas, Cancun, etc. and we already have annual passes so I wouldn't need to buy park tickets.

Enjoy the weekend at the World!

Have a great time! :cool1: Our problem with going for a long weekend from Halifax is that we have very limited direct flights, otherwise we are travelling about 8 hours each way, eating up a lot of valuable holiday time.

It's funny you mention it being a cheap vacation, I've been looking for a week away in February, pricing out mostly all-inclusives. For Saturday departures at 4 1/2 star resorts we're looking at $3000-$3700 per couple, but I found flights to Orlando, leaving Saturday returning Sunday, 8 nights at All-Star Sports, 7 day park hoppers and including Free Dining, Quick Service for under $2400. This was paying for everything, no redeeming reward points for anything. Disney is not in the plans for us until the fall but it certainly made for a good discussion. :thumbsup2

I think it's a great idea, a weekend away is always good.
In 2007 I came back from WDW with some extra magic (we are taking them on their first Disney trip the week before you go!)

Have an amazing trip, if I see Tinkerbell I'll ask her to send some of her extra special pixie dust your way! ;)

One of my bosses (who is now 72 and yes, still working) reminds me almost daily:

"Life is not a dress rehearsal, Gina. You only have one chance to make it a good one. Don't pass up an opportunity to live it to the fullest".

So nope, not crazy. Go and enjoy. And I'm sorry about your disappointing news  .

NO, not crazy. I have done that too - kids had a PA day and I got a great discount with Jet Blue so we took off for a 3 day vacation. It was the best - no parks just pool, food and shopping.

Have fun and sending you some good vibes.
