I notice Thrifty car rental is offsite but thats the best deal I can find is through them. Is it a major pain to take the shuttle over to the site or should I just pay more and rent from an onsite rental agency like alamo?
I would use Priceline- it really is painless- I always thought no way would I use them but after using Hotwire to visit our son in Minneapolis- and got a wonderful hotel room- (never bid on a low rated room) - I decided I would use priceline - I got a fantastic rate ($113 full size car for 6 days thru Avis) for my car rental in San Fran. Priceline uses the five major car rental co's. From now on my car rentals will be thru priceline.
We used thrifty last April and were impressed. The shuttles were running non-stop--maybe because it was Easter break? The shuttle trip is very short and the Blue Chip counter had no wait. If you do use Thrifty, sign up ahead for this. We were given a free upgrade to a Jeep Commander beacause of it! Do get directions to WDW from there ahead of time.
Our last two trips we have had rentals from Thrifty. They have been wonderful. We like the shuttle as we don't have to carry baggage through the garage while we look for a car or carry things after we return to the airport. Check out at their nearby location was a breeze. We were actually very disappointed that we have to rent from Alamo in the airport this time, but they were $85 less than Thrifty.
