Crazy question: What do you think "orbs" are?

Its obvious they are spirits. They are dead so they have nothing better to do than ruin people's photos

Look at the kitchen island and the little jar with a metal top. I think that is your culprit.

Awwww, you guys and your reasonable explanations!!!:lmao: You just made my orb-filled pictures of the "haunted" LaLaurie Mansion in New Orleans a lot less spooky...

If it is an DSLR, it could be a dirty sensor. The lens can be clean the the sensor not and will can cause this.

Dirt on the senor will result in black specks since they block light from hitting the affected sensor pixels. What the photos show is light refracting off something between the subject and the sensor.

I like to keep an open mind. Who knows for sure what they are?

I believe in the existence of ghosts and the paranormal, so I always keep an open mind. However, in the case of this photo, it is what it is. I have seen hundreds and hundreds of photos just like this one. Every time it is has a logical explanation. Personally I am anti orb. I have never seen a "paranormal" orb picture actually BE paranormal.

As another DIS-er who has spent enough time on paranormal research, I think your orbs are just dust and other light effects your camera is picking up.

Those are typical dust orbs. Nothing to worry about I've been a paranormal investigator for a few years and have spent way too many hours pouring over orb photos.

We should start a DISparanormal team! Hehe

It's funny, what with it being Halloween weekend and everything, too... But I've at least 2 conversations about orbs this week, as well as hearing something about them on the radio.

The basic gist of it is that you're using a digital camera that pics up infinitely more details than film cameras ever did, so when there's any refraction of light, it's picking it up, be it dust, moisture, or in some cases, additional lights from another angle, it's going to show.

the last option, more light is what was happening to me at work... I work for Olan Mills, and my photographer had been getting orbs lately, the culprit, he was getting lazy in where he was moving his lights when changing poses! The flash and reflections were just right with the camera to get the orbs.

ORBS!!!

Oh wait, those are just Christmas lights... My bad! ;)

How on earth did you get that effect with your lights? I love that picture and would love to try to do somthing similar with our lights.

It's an easy to do thing called "extremely out of focus". You'll need to take you camera off of auto-focus in order to do it.

:thumbsup2 This!

BTW, that's not my picture.

However, that's pretty much exactly what I see when I take my glasses off - I have very bad eyes. ;) When I was a little girl, I always thought the best part of Christmas was looking at all the lights without my glasses on.
