Crazy question - trade in BCV??

We haven't stayed at BCV yet (our home resort), but did stay at BWV last year and really liked it. Like the location, community room, option for standard point rooms, etc. We'll be staying at BCV in April, so we'll see how we like it there.

Here's the question - IF we decided we liked BWV better than BCV, do you think Disney would let us "swap points"? Love the Epcot/MGM location, so not really interested in the SSR deal. We hate to pay commission to sell BCV, since we just bought last year. And Disney could easily sell BCV points.

( I know, I know, we're crazy to get rid of BCV, etc, but that's not what I'm asking...)

Fire away...

No, sorry. Each contract is a separate entity, and there isn't any "swapping" allowed. You would have to sell your BCV contract and buy your BWV contract as a separate transaction. Them's the rules...

BCV is pretty hot right now. You clould sell them FSBO and should have any problems finding buyers.

The drawback is that if you want BWV points, they are going in the mid/upper $70's on the resale market. Once you add in closing costs, etc., the net in your pocket probably isn't worth your trouble.

The other option is to use the 11 month booking advantage on your BCV points and rent them for $15+, then turn around and rent BWV points at a lower rate.....the proverbial cake but you're allowed to eat it too............

hmmmmm

Aw, c'mon, just do what everyone else does...keep the BCV and ADD ON some BWV points.

(that's what we did...and haven't stayed at either one yet! :cool1: )

PS. If you don't like this idea, stay away from Beca....she is a baaaad influence. :teeth:

You could probably find an owner of BWV who would want to swap with you. You would have to pay some closing fees, but if you didn't go through a broker, there would be no commission.

When doing a swap, you could structure it as a high-priced sale (ie, you agree to buy BWV @ $90/point; the other party agrees to buy BCV @ $90/point) which means Disney would be very unlikely to exercise ROFR.

It's a great question, I understand the desire for BCV over BWV. We sold our BWV and purchased BCV, and have never regretted the decision. I'd rather be sitting on a porch swing on the beach at night looking across the water at the nice lights of BWV than the other way around, not to mention the close parking, SAB, better room layout and better theming (in our opinion of course). Go with your preference, life is short.

JMHO, but I think you're going to find you like the BCV just fine! You may even like them better! We LOVE the BCV for many reasons. However, we are not big fans of the BWV. I would suggest you not make any decisions until you experience the Beach Club.

I was contemplating the same thing, but selling OWK in favor of BWV. I have gone over it in my head time and time again and always come back to the same conclusion: it would be more cost effective for me to keep OKW and try to make ressies at BWV when available.

We don't go often enough for me to justify owning at both resorts as I don't want to have to rent out points at the last minute. I know very well that we wouldn't be able to use more than what we have right now.

And then along comes the new SSR incentive...will the turmoil never end? :sad2:
