Is there anything you can do to make yourself NOT dream??? Every night for the past week or so, I have such crazy bizzare dreams that are so vivid. I wake up feeling more tired than I do when I go to bed! :( I feel like a zombie at this point in time. I have tried taking a tylenol pm, hoping it would help, but still had the dreams. Last night I spend the night trying to run in an airport...going the wrong way on one of those moving sidewalks so I wasn't getting anywhere....I was trying to catch up with my mom, who passed away in 1997. She would look back at me but not come to me. :(

I really need to get some sleep! :(

Oh {{HUGS}} to you!

Are you drinking a lot of caffiene?

How about any kind of allergy medicine? Those always make me sleep very restlessly.

I hope you get to the the bottom of this soon.

{{{HUGS}}}. do you have a patient advisory nurse that you can call and get recommendations from? sure hope you get some good, sound sleep soon

You may want to look into going to a sleep clinic, maybe they can help. Also change meds/try some meds.

good luck.

I can certainly sympathize with you.. I'm currently going through the same thing - only difference is when I'm just starting to drift off I start sweating like crazy and my heart is racing and quivering so bad I think it's going to jump out of my chest!

I know I'm under a lot of stress right now - and I'm assuming that's what is causing the horrible symptoms and dreams that I'm having..

Is there something stressful going on in your life right now? I'm at the point where I don't even want to go to sleep anymore..:(

Kind of off topic, but my Mom always used to say that when you dream of the dead, you need to pray for the living.. Is there anyone in your family who is ill - or in need of prayer? Could be your Mom is trying to send you a message..

If you find anything that helps, please let me know!

Hope it passes soon..

As a 'dreamer' I will tell you that I dream more "intensely" when I am under more stress. Usually when I have things unfinished or I need to do something for what ever reason and I put it off. Perhaps you have a major event or date that is coming up and maybe it is bugging you? I hope you figure it out. Good Luck

Any new herbal supplements? Vitamins? Diet Aids? PMS meds? Allergy meds? Lots of things contain stimulants, especially caffeine. There is a new 7up on the market that contains caffeine, I almost bought it for the children then realized it said something about giving you a boost. Think about any recent changes or new things you might be trying. Hope it's something simple like this;)

Those sound like anxiety dreams...anything particularly nerve wracking happening lately? You might try keeping a journal of the dreams and see if you can find any patterns. Whenever I have transitions in my life, I handle them well on the outside, but my dreams are always pursuit dreams or searching dreams. You also might try some gentle yoga and/or yoga breathing (10 secs in/15 secs out). This can be very calming and relaxing.

OT, but C.Ann, I think you need to get your thyroid checked out. I had hyperthyroidism in my 20's and those were some of the exact symptoms I had. You should have a TSH and a Free T-4 test done, thyroid disease is very, very common and easy to fix, but makes you feel like crap if it goes untreated.

.......more dreams! Actually 2 last night. The first one is fuzzy right now but I remember it waking me up, looking at the clock (2:30am) and thinking "not again!". Had another nutty one towards morning.

Let's see....caffine...only 2 cups of coffee in the morning. I don't take any other meds at all, aside from the occasional Aleve for headaches. Stress....3 kids home for summer vacation, 2 of which are dealing with the emotional trials of puberty... My 84 yr old father lives with us and he can be described as 'cranky' at best recently. Chronically ill husband currently undergoing treatment that totally takes over your life (C. Ann, this makes me think your mom was right on with the dream of the dead theory!!). Going on a family reunion kind of trip to the beach this weekend with DH's family....forced me to make Thumper become more independent....no more syrienge feedings (my baby doesn't need me anymore! :( ) I'm worried about her since she has never been without me for any legnth of time. Will she stress out??!! Nope, no stress in my life! :bounce: Oh yeah, SIL is a physcologist, if I mention this to her on vacation, I know I'll be analayzed....just what I need on vacation!!

OK...since we know what is causing them, what can I do to make them stop!!! :bounce:

I'm wondering if there's something in the air or just something about this time of year. I've been having some horrible ones recently as well. Last three nights, they've involved DH being in some kind of serious accident, but coming out only minorly hurt, but of course me being furious because the accident was his fault caused by some stupid thing he did.

I almost never have truely restful dreams, but these have been worse than usual the past few days. :( So I can sympathize.

Hope you find something that works soon
