I actually have somewhere off disney property that i can stay but i really want the dining plan. I was wondering if i rented a studio off a dvc member and went through the process of checking in would this work out without me even ever staying in the unit? Also if this is possible can i go through the check in process by myself or does the husband and kids have to be there? Just trying to figure out my options?

sounds very expensive to me! Would think it would just be cheaper to pay for your meals out of pocket...by the time you pay to rent DVC points you'd use up any savings you might get from the dining plan.

ITA - by the time you rent a studio for your whole stay and then worry about the time spent checking in, etc. The $$'s that you 'save' with the DP would likely be elminated or you might be paying more with this option.

This idea makes absolutely no sense at all. You are willing to pay $10-15 a point per night (whatever the going rate is; I don't know and just made a guess) PLUS an additional $100 or so a day (only if your kids are 3-9) to get a dining plan??? On what planet does this make financial sense?
