Crazy idea, will it work?

We are going to WDW end of Sept/Oct. It's me, DH, and DS' 4, 2.5, and at time of travel 6 months. My 6 month old is still going to be needing bottles. I use nursery water to mix the formula.
We are using ME to get from airport to hotel, so no chance of stopping at a grocery store. I really do NOT want to have to pay for a cab to go to the local market to get nursery water. So I figure I have two options, one may be a little crazy.
I could A) Go to the 'convenience' center at our hotel ASmo (is there one?) that maybe sells larger bottles of water and probably still over pay for what we need.
Or could I CRAZILY do B) and purchase Nursery water in bottles and put them in a suitcase to fly them down there?
I'm trying to save a buck and it seems that for what we need for only 4 days it's not worth having a local grocery delivery either. I've heard that there are some exorbitant charges for that as well...
Anyone else dealt with this liquifying problem???

Granted it's been a while since we did bottles as my bottle-fed baby just turned 9 and my solely breast-fed baby just turned 6 - but what is "nursery water"?

Okay - I googled it - so it's an actual brand of water that has added fluoride? Doesn't regular water have fluoride? Can't you use regular water for the week or whatever you will be going? Does he even have teeth?? :LOL

At any rate - perhaps you could fill a one of those gallon or two thermoses with it - and carry it in a carry on bag? I have no clue. I don't think I'd trust it in my luggage - although if it spills - it's just water, right?

We always pack a case of water... but I think most DISers ship thier water to their resort by mail or UPS to arrive the same day they do.

Maybe one of those kids' travel service places would make a delivery? You know, the companies that deliver diapers and other supplies and rent baby equipment? You might pay a small premium over retail but I doubt it would be more than the hassle of packing water would be worth.

You can buy bottled watter at the HESS stations that are right on property. There is one across from DD and another over near MGM.

I don't know that I'd pack it in with your regular belongings for spillage reasons. What I did last time we flew and wanted to bring some pop with was buy a rollable softsided cooler from Walmart for $10. Threw the soda bottles in there, checked it with our regular luggage, and prayed for the best. :lol: They arrived safely btw.

Another idea is to pack all the water you can into your carryons. Less chance of leakage. This might be more difficult with all the little ones you're traveling with though.

There is nothing wrong with the water from the tap, but a word of caution: while some folks do not mind the taste of the tap water in Orlando, other folks can not stand the taste. The baby may be able to tell the difference in the taste of the formula and may not drink it. For some reason, babies have a very discerning taste: some babies won't even drink a different brand of formula--or go from breast milk to formula, so going on vacation may not be a good time to experiment. Keeping the baby well hydrated is always a major concern, but especially in FL in Sept/Oct when it will be hot!

dcfromva every1 has discerning tastes. I for one could not drink orlando water at all. spent a fortune on bottled drinks.

as far the OP is concerned. ipick up 2 gallon jugs of nursery water and put them in carryons the small bottles are great too and they dont break at high pressure. i have travelled with them to india without incident. but the gallon jugs are better. A gallon lasts 2 days for us with one baby.

On an aside if u will go to any of the dinner theaters or souveiner huntinng in the outlets the walmart on poly blvd have them for 99c. The walmart on polynesian blvd is minutes from the park.

Definately either bring the water from home or stop at Walmart on the way and pick some up.
I took my son from his home tap water to visit my sister in Texas. I didn't think about the change in water but he wound up with the worst case of diarrhea that he ever had and by the end of 3 days his bottom was so raw it was bleeding.
I took him to the Dr and they gave me a script for lotion and some samples of premixed formula for him to drink instead of using the tap water. this was almost 30 years ago when they didn't sell premixed formula or the powder, only the liquid concentrate.
I never made that mistake again with any of my children, I always brought the formula and water they were used to. Peggie

I'm confused. Why not just use regular bottled water for the 4 days? You can grab a bottle no matter where you are (plane, park, resort, etc) and mix up some formula. Disney sells Dasani water ... you can give it a try at home the week before you go to WDW.

Isn't nursery water just a brand of bottled water down the baby aisle? If so then I think I personally would just buy bottled water at the hotel and parks if a cab is not an option. Yes, you'll pay a bit more but worth it I would think. The hassle of packing water is not something I would like to deal with. I would try dasani at home though to make sure no problems.

I gave my son regular tap water, but when we went on the cruise, to disney or on vacation that is the one place I brought bottled water. You just never know. I was especially concerned with the cruise and being in port in a foreign county. We drove though so it wasn't a big deal.

If I remember right I do not care for the water inside the parks so giving the baby tap water isn't something I would consider at the parks.

The teeth are forming so that's why many dr's prescribe fluoride drops or vitamins with fluoride to babies

I would just use the bottled water in the food court since it's such a short amount of time.

They make Nursery water in smaller more easily toted bottles and you can take those in your luggage we brought water that way before for formul and those little individual packets of formula!

Don't all of the baby care centers have bottled water also? I am almost positive that we used a bottled water dispenser at Epcot to make bottles a few years ago. It might be a pain, but you could stop there in the morning and fill 2 or 3 bottles with water and then go back as needed.

personally, i'd use tap water.

if i wanted to spend extra money i'd use regular bottled water.

but that's just me and i'd never deam of paying for a special brand of baby water even if i was at home.

I wouldn't use florida water, it made my dog sick. It isn't that it is bad water, its just the quick switch bothered her alot. I switched to distilled water, it made a world of difference. They have companies that deliver, so maybe they can deliver nursery water or spring water , or distilled. My dog was used to spring water, so the quick switch made her sick.
