Crazy check in day, will this work?

Please reassure me or offer advice about how this day is going to work. Here’s the scenario:

Family 1: Already been there a week, have 10-day park tickets, no hopper. Will be switching from BCV to AKV for the second week, and will have used all BCV DDP credits by the night before. We would like to go to AK park during the day so that we don’t lose a park day and it will be the first day to visit AK.

Family 2: Driving down the day before, stopping overnight and arriving sometime mid-morning. Will have the military 4-day tickets, no hopper but with water park option. They might go to a water park on check in day.
Both families are sharing a 2-bedroom at AKV and will have DDP. We have dinner reservations at Boma at 5:00 for the entire group.

Here’s the question: Can each family check in at AKV in the morning, separately, and get their DDP credits? I realize the room most likely won’t be ready and we can get a room number later. If we do not check in and just head out to our respective parks, we will have to pay OOP for lunch and then will have a QS credit left over at the end of the week. We’d like to not be stressed about this process, check in when we can get there, be able to use DDP for lunch, and then meet up at the room or for dinner. Is that possible?

Yes you can just have each family pick up their room keys when they arrive. All dining credits will be on all keys.
