:rotfl2: Okay pick yourself up off the floor PLEASE!!!! LOL Okay just curious if anyone has had any adverse things happened to their precious colored or high lighted hair using the shampoo/conditioner? I usually bring my own but last summer I knew we would be in/out of the pool a lot so I didn't bother and I used the Disney stuff because I didn't get my hair done before we left. Well the timing was off for this July trip....I needed my hair done big time so I got it all purdy last week.....:rotfl: and now I am thinking that maybe that shampoo might strip it. I have tons of the stuff here at home too....the kids will use when we have run out at home before I can pick some up. Okay...just wondering. I guess if no one posts then that is a good thing.

No problems and I have highlighted (blonde on blonde hair)

Oh good. Thanks. I was a tad worried because my hair cost big bucks and to think I might rinse that down the drain on my vacation..........:scared1:

I packed my big bottle of shampoo in the big suitcase, and hoped that it would make it to Disney in one piece. It turned out fine.

I paid too much for my hair to rinse it down the drain, and who wants grey hair at Disney?

I sometimes tell my students that I color my hair because I have a pigment deficiency. :rolleyes1

When I went in November for a wedding I had just dyed my hair red. I had no problems with the shampoo. I actually liked it and brought some home!

I have my hair permanently colored (as opposed to a rinse) to hide the white hair I have been getting since 1996 (at age 29). I have had no problem with the shampoo products. I really liked the ones i got when i stayed at GCH! You should be fine.

I get my hair done at the Ivy Trellis Salon at the GF, by the way. :)

then Mickey's shampoo. My wife was told to wait until after vacation to get her hair done.

You know what....you are right. That is why I waited last time but this time I just couldn't wait....the timing was all off. I got every 6 weeks or so. I am headed back the week after we return...so I guess it will be okay. I know the bath products they leave now seem to be better quality than what used to be left. That black/red mickey shampoo.

So true, I brought my own expensive hair products and still went a bit brassy by the time we left. I got my conditioner with the spf washed out in one torrential downpour. Then of course 5 minutes later the sun was blazing and baked my head. (Wore a hat the rest of the trip.) My hubby was joking about toxic rain.:rotfl:

I hated the red and black Mickey stuff. DH could use it (he has no hair) but I refused. i still take a bottle of my shampoo with me in my checked bag but really, the MM shampoo is not bad. As a hairdresser, I would not say to use it if I thought it was horrible (like the other for adult/chemically treated hair). I did find that my hair was more limp with the h2O stuff than with my regular shampoo. I would not recommend it for everyday use at home with color on your hair JMHO.

I would advise rinsing the pool water out of your hair immediately and I agree with the poster who said the pool water and sun will be worse than anything . I usually always advise clients to have their hair done after a trip, unless the timing is off. I've done it both ways myself and it is fine to get it done before you go.

Have a great time and enjoy your DVC!!

I have to admit I bring small bottles of my color safe shampoo and conditioner with me, but alternate the days I use it with the Disney Collection of H2O products. I love their soaps, shampoos, conditioners and lotions! I have my hair died during the week before our vacations, and have never come home with off colored hair. The sun and chlorine do do a number on anyones hair, dyed or natural....real blondes hair turns green with too much chlorine, and the sun lightens every color hair. The H2O products are a wonderful upgrade to the old Disney products!

I am in the same boat as you......I have done it many times and all seems to be OK in the end.....Of course, we do lose some of the highlights as they seem to blend with the other color ..... I have blonde and light brown.....I don't like to show off my greys, so I guess I will have to live with this. I do bring my own shampoo and conditioner as I have very unruly hair!!!! Good Luck!!

From experience, I can tell you that the H2O products work well on gray hair, too, leaving the lustrous locks looking like strands of shimmering silver. ;)

Some of us are quite proud of our "pigment deficiency." :rotfl:

apparently i'm the only one who finds the H2O products too drying :confused3
i bring my own shampoo & conditioner: either paul mitchell or matrix. other products change my color too much (noticably lighter & brassy), and make my hair "crispy" :scared:

however, the H2O products are fine for what hair DH has :rolleyes1

No problem w/my red tresses. I do put conditioner on before I go into the pool

Well... now that you mention it, Denise.... I did seem to seriously start losing my hair right after we joined DVC... never made that correlation before, but given my current condition, I might should contact an attorney. :upsidedow

Okay......I am going to put this in prespective for you.....since pay alot to get your hair done....as any good color tends to cost I view your hair to be like well......prada......you would never wash your prada in Tide. :goodvibes

Paul mitchell has incredible products to help prevent sun damage on hair, they have sunflower in them and it works beautifuly. They also come in 3.4oz size so you can have them in your carry on as wel.:goodvibes
