Craziest VIP Experience

I'll be on a vendor's private jet next month flying to a few cities and home in a day. That will be the top VIP experience for me.

Back in the early 2000s a friend worked for the Indians and I was able to go into the players area and have conversations with them at spring training. That was pretty cool but not really VIP.

I also got a tour of Club 33 once but couldn't eat there so I'm not counting it.

What I learned from this thread is that I need more impressive friends.

I've been quite fortunate in having the right family and friends to have been afforded many amazing experiences.

The funniest time was when the room was in a dither over Steve Perry being at a party. Folks were gathered around snapping photos, asking for autographs, and staff rolling out the red carpet. I was so excited because he is "my crush." As I get closer I realize...it's not Perry. I groaned but friend came over and shushed me. He'd started the frenzy. "Steve Perry" was actually DH...who wasn't in on the gag. He kept saying, "I'm not who you think I am." Of course, that fueled the crowd even more. I grabbed him threw the bartender $100 and left via the back door. Next I had friends calling to tell me about Steve Perry's appearance. I was like...uh nope wasn't him!!!

I just remembered this other really great VIP experiece. I had the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes at a big-time recording studio with a small group. Who was recording at the time? None other than Aerosmith! It was really cool, and they are really cool guys. In fact, Steven Tyler absolutely insisted that the group be invited to the concert that night, much to the chagrin of his manager, who was trying to figure out how to get us there. She ended up getting this really fast super-stretch limo....

When I was in my early 20’s my mom’s cousin, dry wealthy, who owned a commercial yacht business in Manhattan, decided last minute to have a large party onboard the largest boat, probably 100 or so guests. It was there 4th of July, and there were so many boats in the harbor for the fireworks. A small boat pulled up along side, and yelled “do you have any grey poupon?” Looking back, I’m guessing they had a cancellation, I had to run out and find a nice dress at the last minute.
