Has anyone purchased this toy. Considering it for X-mas.

I actually saw this on another board that I frequent.

Some have said that the crayons that it creates are brittle.

Some also melt crayons and reshape them by melting them in the microwave, and then putting them in candy molds.


The jury was divided. I personally thought about it for my kids (I've got more broken crayons than whole ones!).

I purchased this for Christmas for my 5 year old. We haven't tried it yet, but it looked so cool, I couldn't resist. Family Fun rated it pretty high in their annual best new toys issue, which is where I first heard about it.

My DD first saw it in Good Housekeeping a few months ago. I figure it probably works well or it wouldn't be in that magasine since they chick everything out so carefully.

I saw this yesterday at K-Mart too.

I am thinking of getting it for our "family Christmas exchange". Since DH's immediate family now numbers 31, we draw names for gifts.

Ever since my sister-in-law gave DD a "1000 bead craft set", I've been looking for something equally messy for revenge!!

In that case, Deb, you should make sure to include a huge bag of glitter, in case they want to make glitter crayons

My concern is that if you mix too many colors, you'll end up with a bunch of black crayons. Someone needs to break into theirs & give us a full report

What is a whole crayon??? I thought they were supposed to be broken immediately after purchase.

We couldn't find a single black crayon in the entire house last week when DD was working on a project for school??? I dug through all the bags and boxes of old, broken crayons but the best I could do was dark purple!
