We'll be making our first trip in about a month, and my younger son will be 11 months old - probably not walking yet, still crawling and "cruising" on furniture. I'm a little worried that he'll get sick of being in the stroller/ being held all day and want to get down and move on his own. Are there any areas in the parks (indoors or out) where you've stopped to let your babies crawl around for awhile?

I'm probably little help as my 2yo dropped to the ground wherever we were and played w/ his Thomas trains or the little Disney cars we picked up for him. He basically laid down on the ground ALL over WDW property...on line for the bus, for Small World, waiting for parades..you get the idea!

Ds was in the stroller a lot, but there are a lot of times and places you just can't use the stroller. If I obsessed about him laying on the ground, I wouldn't ever have enjoyed our vacation.

I did sort of surprise an older woman while waiting for one of the MK parades. Ds threw a ball out in the street and she offered some hand sanitizer to me so I could wash it off. I thanked her but shared that we were SO past hand sanitizer... she was a bit shocked when I explained.

Thanks for the link, Jeremy, that was helpful.

Ha on the hand sanitizer. I usually carry a bottle of it, but rarely use it on either of my boys. I just keep telling myself that some dirt is good for the immune system!

I'm with you on the "a little dirt is good" thing. I think it's bad when people try to keep their kids "sterile". Also too many "bacteria killers" have been proven to make bacteria mutate to new resistant forms, so overuse is discouraged.

That being said, I do keep some around, mostly because aside from germs, it's usually pretty good and making hands "un sticky", and since it evaporates very quickly, it's sometimes easier to use than water.
