Craving the fried chicken from the Hoop dinner show.

I saw somewhere that you can buy fried chicken from Trail's End "to go". Does anyone know if the fried chicken at Trail's end "to go" is the same as the chicken served at the dinner show? We loved it when we attended the show this past May. It would be great to be able to pick up some chicken and have a picnic somewhere in Fort Wilderness. Anybody know if there are some picnic areas open to guests from other resorts? We'll be coming from Pop Century... thanks!

I think it is safe to say that the chicken would be the same at both places. I am positive that both places work out of the same kitchen being that they are so close together.

I don't know the answer to your question but my mouth is watering just thinking about that chicken. I can't wait! 12/26 @7:15pm.....YUM!

I haven't been back to the Hoop De Doo for over 3 years and I am still talking about THAT chicken!!! I am sure glad I am not the only one who dreams of that good fried chicken!!!

I could eat 20 pieces of that chicken if I didn't have to eat 5 pounds of ribs too. Not to mention those beans. Can't wait for 12-14 at 9:30.

Trail's End is the Hoop without the show! It's great when all you want is the food part.

They added grilled chicken too which is absolutely delicious! I think I like it better than the fried. Plus the ribs - YUM.

My advice - grab a "to go" bucket, take it down to the dock and grab a table. Have some dinner, then watch the Water Electrical Parade and Wishes from the Fort beach. Great night!

Is it possible to buy the chicken to go using counter service credits?

You're making me crave the fried chicken and I haven't even been to the Hoop-Dee-Doo...yet! I have my first reservation there on December 23 at 9:30pm and I'm super excited. It's our honeymoon vacation and I've heard such great things about the show and the food!

Have a great honeymoon! The show and food are great. We loved the cornbread and the strawberry shortcake also (along with the chicken).

This thread is making me hungry! I don't see the recipe note on AllEars so if anyone is going...soon... can you please ask? :worship:

Not quite! They don't give you unlimited beer.:sad1:

And that is what makes the chicken as wonderful as it is! HDDR chicken and that from 50s--tastes about the same to me (except the parts are a bit smaller at 50s) and we love it as well. :thumbsup2

I've been craving the chicken too and decided to book Trail's End on our next trip for just that reason. When we did HDDR, we didn't get a very good server, so instead of "all you can eat" it was "all your server feels like bringing you." We had plenty really but I wouldn't have minded another piece of chicken! With the Trail's End buffet, I can help myself!
