Crane behind the castle

My boyfriend and I are going 23/9 to 5/10 and I am worried the crane will be up behind the castle putting up decorations

I really hope it isn't there! Think it will ruin my photos! Anyone know what dates it is usually there?

Sorry, you are there at the most likely time for the crane to be in place. They do generally lower it during the day though.

Also with the Fantasyland construction cranes are likely anytime until it is fully completed.

It does edit out quite easily in something like iPhoto or photoshop.

We were there about the same time last year, the crane was only there on one day....it was our first at MK and I was a bit disapointed but it was gone for our next day. hope this helps

I think you were there around the same time as we were last year and I can confirm that there were days when the crane was not up. They do always have it taken down in the late afternoon/early evening before the fireworks though. We also have some very early morning shots we took in front of the castle and it wasn't up yet, however I have yet to be able to detect any kind of pattern or time schedule for it's presence! I was more irritated by all the tarps over the buildings on Main Street in 2010 so at least you wont have those to worry about this year. You will still get some great photos and as mentioned above, there is always Photoshop

No the crane will not be up. They decided since so many people complain about that and the tarps they will just skip the decorations & refurb this year......

The scrims on Main Street were worse than ever in Feb - The bakery's scrim was right over the path with no space for parade viewing in front either!

That's always one of the slight drawbacks of going out of season. I am hoping the with MNSSHP in the Fall that they will have most of that sorted out.

Back to the crane, we did a resort photo session at the Poly in 2010 and one of my requests was photos with the castle in the background. Well we got a few, but they were complete with the crane jutting out into the afternoon sky

When we were there in 2010, we found that the crane was down first thing in the morning, then again from 5:00ish in the afternoon. It's in some of our photopass pics too, but we still had a great time!!!!

We were there Presidents week - not off season at all and it was still there at the start of spring break season too!
