Marcie - I LOVE your new tattoo, the coloring is great. How exciting!! Did you get it on your lower back?

Thank you! I'm so excited. I told my friend that went with me that I hope people who didn't know why I got it wouldn't think I was just being prissy and she said, but you are prissy the tattoo isn't going to change that. Yes, it's on my lower back, right above my tan line. The crown actually is higher then my pants. So, I'm happy that I can show it if I want to, but cover it up for work.

Stephanie - thanks so much for posting that picture. I LOVE it and will add it to my favorite pictures!! It was really good to see you and I am so glad you came up to us at the Port. Have you done a trip report yet? It was so funny to see your husband up there on deck 10 taking the picture, that was before we were soaked and before they were handing out ponchos to us on Deck 9!!!! I still cannot believe how much older Claire and Elvis looked from the 10 night, Samantha looked the same to me though!

Update...I know nothing still. I did send an email to my Principal that was a forward of the emails from my direct boss. I asked him what was going on and explained that I had looked up the School Board Policy and it states I can take AL time during the year. I figure he would talk to me today but he never did. He did come into my office but did not say anything when he saw I had 2 students in my office. I really thought he would call me in his office though. I had to leave early in order to pick up Mac from tutoring. I had to ask my direct boss to leave 10 minutes early. She told me I need to discuss leaving early with our Principal since this is going to be an ongoing thing but I never know until Mac texts me if she has to stay for tutoring. So I will be in the office tomorrow morning before the day starts. I am going to ask about leaving early then I am going to ask if he knows if I am going to get paid for my days off in November.

Yes, this is my first tatt. I've just been talking about getting 1 forever. It's a little high on my lower back. I asked him to put it right above my tan line. The crown goes about an inch and a half above my pants.

So far no evacuation for us, but we will definitely get some kind of effect from it.

I think you're right about the kids! Claire & Elvis look so much older/different to me, too! LOL! Samantha has always looked a little young for her age (even though she is tall! LOL!). She knows that, at almost 18, one of these days she is really going to like it when people think she is younger! LOL!

We stayed out in the rain too (that is why we were the only ones on the rail, the others didn't want to get wet!!). I am so thankful my mom let me borrow hwe waterproof digital!

I have the same issue as Samantha of looking young. When I had the practice with my hair for the wedding, they thought I was going to prom and were shocked it was for my wedding. Then when my step daughters and I had our nails done for the wedding, the people that were doing their nails commented on how nice it was that their sister took them out to get their nails done. I get tired of it, but soon I am sure I will enjoy it!

I am another one who gets mistaken for being younger. I met someone recently who just would NOT believe Aerial was my daughter. I get carded all the time.


They just ordered a mandatory evacuation for Galveston and the president declared our county in the disaster zone, but no evacuation called yet here. I really don't want to evacuate.

Well they are supposed to give us 48 hours, but it's looking like that's not going to happen. i think it's supposed to hit Friday and they still aren't sure what it's doing.

When I got home I jumped on the treadmill and watched the news as I walked. Ike is a Cat 2 now but bad news is the hurricane has time to get back to a Cat 4.

Well my meeting went OK. I will give you the short version. My boss was not happy that I went over her head to Dr P. She was let me know it first thing this morning too. I told her my issue is them not paying me for 4 days and making me pay for a sub. She told me I was reading the policy wrong. Well hello how I did not know there was a right way and a wrong way to read something that is very clear. Anyway the Principal is going on her version of the policy. We finally came to the agreement I will pay my sub on my own and they will pay me for my days of AL time. I do wish they would have made this clear to me last year. I did speak with my sub and he said that he gets after taxes $60 a day for my job. I am going to pay him $240 before I leave on vacation. I hate that I am having to take this out of my vacation money. If I had known before I would have saved more money.

I,too, am one that people think I am younger than I am. I am very thankful for that. LOL

Went on a drive today to Pikes Peak and got snowed on. Not much but it was snow! It is at 14,100 ft high.

Aerial's school is closed tomorrow and Friday and we are now under voluntary evacuation. I have reservations with my step family again but I will decide tomorrow if I am leaving. I am sure if it goes anymore North we will get mandatory. I'm stressed.
