Good morning. In a few hours I have to go to the post office to apply for my passport. It feels good to finally get around to doing it!!

Yay, Heidi finally got the bug to go get here passport. She has been wanting to do it just hasn't. Now we can travel to Mexico to our resort last minute should we ever want to.

Hi all! It's been kind of crazy around here. Girl Scouts have been busy with end of the year things. All that is left now is end of the year paperwork. Remember me telling you about my psyco lab manager? Well, it is all about to hit the fan this week. I had acutally given my office manager a letter saying I was going to step down as assistant manager. I thought everything was going to be fine. Well, last week Sherry (lab mgr) was completely inappropriate with some comments to another employee and there were witnesses. The office mgr has been calling everyone up individually to talk to them about Sherry and I think she is about to get fired. So now instead of stepping down, I will more than likely be co-managing with another friend of mine. I don't want to do it forever though and she doesn't either, but I think we will do it for 6-9 months and look for someone new.

He had an interview at Children's last Thursday that he thought went well. It was a panal interview and one of the ladies on the panel remembered him from a trip we took to Steamboat one New Years Eve. I don't even think we were married at the time, or maybe newly married. We went up with a bunch of
friends of his from school. He didn't remember her at all though.

He has an interview at the VA tomorrow morning and he also has his resume in at McKesson (it is in Louisville). He knows someone at McKesson who hand delivered his resume to the hiring manager. So, I am hoping that one of these pans out for him. He has been getting pretty stressed out about the whole thing.

All of our children have passports -- our youngest was 3 when we got her one. Our oldest 3 children have traveled overseas (since they were about 10 or so).
DH's theory is that *you never know when a great trip is going to come up and without a passport you have to say no*! LOL!

A couple of months ago when our 27ds started working in the IT dept almost immediately he had to go to Canada to do an install since he was the only one in the IT dept with a Passport!

I need to renew mine & 16dd's this month and I have to make sure that my mom has one for the wedding in Oct....... Everyone else in our family travels so, we all have Passports.

They are actually both. The one at Children's wants a registered pharmacist, but it is mostly working with some software they have, some sort of liason(have no idea how to spell and spellcheck can't find it ), between pharmacy and IT. I am not sure exactly what the VA job is exactly, but I think it is similar to the Children's job. The one at McKesson is a software job, but they deal mostly with pharmacies and medical supplies.

I finally applied for my passport. It will be here no later than August 22nd!!! Thank goodness we did it now since we leave September 14th. The guy kept pushing us to pay over $100 more to expedite but I knew we would have enough time so I said no and he kept pushing us. Chris finally said I rather save the hundred dollars and use it for the trip instead of paying for our passports to get her 2 weeks earlier!!!

When we did ours back in 05, we didn't pay for expedited processing either, and we had our passports in just a couple of weeks. I think you'll be surprised by how quickly you get them and you'll be glad you didn't pay the extra.

They say it takes at least 12 weeks now to get your passport and I have read that some other DIS'ers has been getting their passports AFTER 12 weeks, but someone called because a trip was coming up within a week and they still hadn't received their passports and they expedited it to them the next day for free since they had already waited for 12 weeks. I am not worried yet but if it comes to the month of September and I don't have it I might panic!!!!

My friend booked her trip today!! Now we are all going. Has anyone used Garden Grocers? We are trying to figure out how we are going to get beer there. Also, breakfast foods, energy drinks & my diet dr. pepper.

Marcie, gardengrocer gets a pretty good review but the downside is that you have to be there to accept the groceries. Unfortunately that is why we always take Tiffany Towncar and ask for a grocery store stop.
