Cranberry or Pineapple?? Part 2

Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you, Brad had an interview last week for a job at the drug information center. He thought that it sounded like a pretty good job. They will probably offer it to him, but after he went down there and saw the place and learned a little more about the job he said he would rather hit his head up against a wall than work there. The money is good, but he would never be home for dinner and the shift could change daily and he would have to carry a pager at time. I don't think that is a good idea for us. He said it did give him good practice interviewing though.

Does beer count as a side dish? :drinking1 Kidding, of course. We will plan on bringing a side or a dessert but I would be happy to bring along some beer, too, if you want.

I haven't seen any snow this morning, but I got pretty wet heading to the light rail.

Bringing beer would be great. I am sure that I will head over to Arrow and get some too, but can't ever have too much. I heard that there is a goose nesting in front of Arrow right now.

We have a leak in our roof. :( This morning when Rachel went into the kitchen there was a puddle of water on the floor (she blamed Max, poor dog :(). Our kitchen ceiling is lower that the other ceilings because all of the plumbing from the upstairs is up there. In the past we have had some water up there from the shower in our bathroom, but now that we have replaced everything in the bathroom that is fixed. Brad looked up there and he thinks it is from the roof vent. So, we are going to have to call someone to come out and fix that, but it needs to stop raining first.

We are at lunch and went back to our hotel. I thought I would check in here!! The weather is great...82 today and we will be heading to the beach after our class!!!! We talked our instructor and class into starting 30 minutes earlier and getting out 30 minutes earlier so we can head to the beach!!! I love it. My coworker's goal is to get sunburned and my goal is to eat so much seafood that I get sick of it. Sorry CO is having such bad weather....Come visit me here!!

Cristi - 3:00 or 3:30 will work for me. I can bring....ugh something. I will think about it while I am lounging on the beach today after class!!! Of course thinking about the snow and rain that is in CO right now. ;)

Have to go back to class. I will try and get on again this week.

Poor Heidi, has it so bad in VA. :rotfl2:

Cristi, sorry about your leak. We just had roofers out to redo our roof. After the big snow we were one of the unfortunates that had the ice up under the shingles because the roofing co didn't put in on right after the big hail a few years ago. We only had ONE month left for warranty. Thank goodness we found out in time. Brad made the right decision!!! We don't have snow on the ground. Just the rain/snow/rain/snow. I heard that it may snow this afternoon for us. Stacey said that I25 was at a standstill in Monument and a firetruck was stuck on Monument Hill Rd blocking it. It is amazing what just a few miles can do to a storm.

Heidi, maybe you could just bring something that you don't have to cook like chips and????

Heidi, maybe you could bring chips/dip or a veggie tray. Those both are pretty easy.

   I am so excited. When we booked WDW for this Sept we couldn't get the resort we wanted or a preferred room. Thanks to the DISboards and DU we are now going a day early and get ASMo.   I was so worried that we would be in ASMu and the girls in ASMo. I even get to go a day earlier! Yippee!

Marcie, where are you???

Lulu and Selena, haven't heard from you in awhile. Everything ok?

Thanks Steph, I am excited! Can you tell?

I'm here, I've just been super busy at work and I had to take off yesterday to go back to the doctor. He took more blood and convinced me to try an antidpressant for the third time since last year. He said he would hate to see me go through this whole divorce with nothing when something might help me. He told me I was losing too much weight and looked tired. I told him, great, I'm supposed to be on a strict low fat diet but not lose weight. Anyway, he says maybe my stomach will get better if i take these darn antidepressants that I fight so much. So, I took one tonight, maybe can stay on them. Both other times, I gave up after a week or two. I really have been really down the last couple of days, so I'm crossing my fingers this helps.

I can't wait to hear about the bbq. What day is it?

No allergies here. Vegetable tray sounds good to me and easy for me to bring....I will do that.

We are slowing down as the week goes on. Monday we were out until 10:00, yesterday till 9:30 and today we are back at 8:00!!! We are exhausted (seriously)...but we did manage to drag ourselves to a new beach and seafood restaurant!! The training is wearing us down, but it is fun afterwards!! I am travelling with a non-drinker so I haven't had one drink here!!!

Marcie - The BBQ is this Sunday. Hang in there..hoping you will stay on the anti-depressants and that they will help you. I wish I could give you a hug and hang out with you.

Hang in there Marcie! Hopefully the meds will help you get through this.

No allergies here, unless you count my coffee mug that says I'm allergic to morning. :)

No allergies here either.

Marcie, I think the Doctor is right about the anti-depressants. I can see how that will help you with the divorce AND your stomach. Hang in there. You are doing great!

I agree! Marcie, you're doing great. We're all proud of you and wish you the best.

Sandy, I am glad for your resort! When are you going?

Cristi, good luck on the leak!

Heidi, I am soooo jealous!

I applied to a grad program but my undergrad still hasn't sent my transcripts over. Grr.

I have had it with work. My evaluation was okay, but not as good as last year - I asked if my performance went down and my boss said no, but that she doesn't like to give high marks, that the highest category shouldn't be on a form (and I know she gave others that highest mark). So now I am not only doing double time work (up till 3 yesterday) I am all the time thinking about the evaluation and I am sad.

I am looking for other jobs, but I need something nearby since Robbie and I share a car.

Selena, I hope all is well. If you get a chance, I know you work in a school with Reading Recovery. I have a few questions for you - I am hoping to get a Masters in Literacy/Reading Specialist and if you know a Reading Specialist or Reading Recovery teacher well enough to pass along a few questions, I'd appreciate it! :)

On the bright side, Julia (my niece) was over - she crawled one "crawl" forward today!!! She is so cute. Brightened my whole outlook. I can't stop smiling around the little ones. I know the proud Grandma (Sandy) can relate here! :) My four year old nephew keeps asking to sleep over. He wants to eat popcorn and watch scary movies. I don't know where he got that idea from, but I love it. Any ideas for a "scary" movie for a four year old that won't *really* scare him? (Tough, I know!!)

Insider Info: Curves just came out with granola bars (Chocolate Peanut and Strawberries and Cream) and cereal (Honey Crunch and Whole Grain Crunch) and are planning on putting in a card scanner on each machine to tailor the workout for you - it will stay in green if you are using the right muscles and pushing hardest and it will go to yellow and then RED if you're not. Pretty cool.

Anyway, hope all is well with my monkeys.

:wizard:

Lulu, I really enjoyed your post. I think evaluations STINK. You never get what you deserve because they leave room so you work harder to acheive the highest rating. That happened to me and it worked the opposite. Why would I continue doing my job and then help others who didn't work as hard as I did? I just slowed down and only did my work. It backfired on them!! Curves.....it sounds so good! Maybe I should rejoin!:thumbsup2
You sound like such a proud auntie just like Heidi. You can't help but love each and every step they take!

You HAVE to stay on them at least 6 wks!!! PLEASE! I know you don't know me very well BUT, I can tell you that it will make a huge difference in your life!!
I was on Zoloft for about 4 yrs.... And i had nothing to be depressed about!! LOL! I had (have) a great life! But, I had always had stomach issues (I had my first upper GI done when I was 22.....) I couldn't eat anyting without extreme pain! When I went to the Dr (I was about 31 or 32) with what I thought were asthma symtoms and he listens to me and then tells me I'm depressed... I answered *No, I'm not. I have a wonderful life -- great kids, dh that loves me and does anything for me.* He told me that had nothing to do with it ---- and he was right!!! I started the medication and within a few weeks I was a whole new person! I was my OLD self! I didn' trealize how bad it was until I felt better!

Lulu,
I'll have to think about the movie (my 5dd would think that Snow White is pretty scarey! -- she's not a fan of the Villians. ;) )
I feel the same way about my neices and nephews! We are travelling 3 1/2 hrs each wayt o see my great neice on Sunday (for her 1st b-day). She's the dd of my nephew that was in the accident. :)

That stinks about the evaluation -- I know it feels disappointing to you.

Too cool about Curves. I belonged (and went) for a year or so. I stopped because I had no one to talk to....None of my friends went and during the times that I went they all seemed to know each other (between 7:30 - 9am) . Y'all know I tried to join their conversations :rotfl: but, they didn't seem interested in adding a person.....
It gets real boring to go anywhere on a regular basis when no one talks to you...... And that is VERY unusual around here!
