Sandy, if you compare the Freedom of the Seas to Disney I think the FOS is a great buy. We booked 17 months out for this cruise so we got an good deal. The sailing was a sale out. A few cabin were available once in a while but they went quickly. The price did rise by $250 a cabin by the time we sailed. We were able to get 2 rooms, one a balcony and another a PR for under $4000.

I think they are expensive at times but I think Disney is more expensive. As far as the price and what they offer it is a great price. There are a few things that you get on Disney that you do not get on RCI. The big one would be soft drinks. You have to buy this on RCI.

The Freedom offers the flowrider which is really a huge hit. The boxing ring that is in the gym is not a hit. It cost $15 to use it and it just sits there. I would not be surprised to see it disappear quickly. They have the rock climbing walk, putt putt, ping pong and a basketball/volleyball court as well. They are all busy but you could play ping pong at any given time. I did not find this on the Magic or the Wonder.

The food is really nice. The Windjammer buffet is nice but I like the diningroom much better. The windjammer offers the same type foods as TopSider or Beach Blanket Buffet does. But they do have Jade. Jade serves sushi and Japanese style food on the buffet in the evenings. We went there almost every night for the sushi and noodles. Oh and the green tea was awesome!

Surcharge restuarants are Portfinos and Chops. I did not eat at Portfinos but Chops was excellent! Chops has is a steak house. I had a fillet with a red wine reduction with mushrooms. It was heavenly! Portfinos serves Italian food. I heard it was excellent but we did not go there. The surcharge for both places is $20 pp. Well worth it in my opinion.

The also have a Serrentos Pizza. Now this was the best pizza I have had in along time. Very good!! They also have panninis during certain lunch time hours. They have some nice antipasto and desserts, all free.

The bakery cafe is nice as well. They serve coffee and desserts. The speciality coffee are at a cost but otherwise everything else is free.

I think the ship is more expensive than some of the older RCI cruise itineraries but I think for the difference I would go with the Freedom.

We solely booked this ship for it's itinerary. We were not disappointed and if I had the money I would go back tomorrow.

Oh the life. We woke up and went to eat in the diningroom. I just love their breakfast there. I had Eggs Benedict and a side of French Toast. I only eat one egg an one piece of toast though. lol

The kids would not get up and go with us so they stayed in their room.

After eating we were set to go. We met up with Bonnie, Richard, Dani and Barb and headed to Paradise Beach. We got there before 11. We chose a place to sit and I swear if Jeff did not have to point out to me we were right beside of guess who??? Yes her. I was so mad at him because I would not have noticed for a while longer. lol but it all worked out well. It is just so funny though to see people act like fools. I learned on this cruise that you do not have to do a thing when someone treats you made. They are capable of making themselves look stupid without your help.

They were in the water when we got there and I was not looking for them so I did not see them go to the water. I also did not chose where we were to sit either. But I am sure if she was to tell this story it would be much different. As God as my witness this is the truth. I honestly did not look for her during the whole cruise. I just refused to allow her narrow minded crap ruin my families cruise. Jeff had made a comment prior to us going on how I need to get it over with now so I would not ruin the family cruies with being upset. I am so glad he made this comment. It helped to put it all into motion.

Anyway we sit down and everyone goes into the water. I stayed watching and taking pictures. Shortly after arriving our other group arrive and we call them over. The waiter instantly find them lounges to move ot be near us. When this happens she moves her stuff and goes else where. lol I have to laugh about that. I mean I have heard that she said that I purposely sit near her to upset her. It is so funny because she meant so little to me. Why would I waste my time doing something this childish? But I could see her doing something like that though.

We stay untl lunch and then decide to go down town to shop a while and on to meet back up with the group at Carlos and Charlies. We do our shopping and haggling. I really do not like to shop in ports because you are so bothered by people to buy thier wares.

Finally we arrive at Carlos and Charlies. We get a nice big table in the back near the bar. It was perfect. Our friends arrive and we are having a great time. I even danced on the tables without being drunk!! I did order a yard of LIIT. I could not drink it all and had to share it. If I had drank that someone would have had to carry me to the ship.

While there guess who shows up and is put right near us all? lol God is so good. She sat with her back to all of us. Which I know just killed her because she likes to be in the thick of things and with her back to us she literally had her head facing the back wall of the place. Now how boring is that. I do not know how many people told me she looked just miserable. Funny I did not even know she was there until once again Jeff told me she was there. I know he was being protective over me and that is why he knew she was around.

After leaving we made it to the pier. Well we almost even made it to the ship but guess what is right there at the ship? Senor Frogs. lol We all go in there. I did not drink. No way but I did try to dance. Have I told you guys I have no rhythm? Well I do not have any. It is so funny. I have no clue why I think when I am drunk I all of a sudden can dance. lol

We leave because the kids are driving us nuts. We go back and take a nap. I have no clue as to what the kids do. Well I do. Jeff took a shower. I laid down for a quick nap. He came out and then went to sign them up for the flowrider. He came back and napped wth me. I finally get up and take my shower.

After a while we made it to the pool deck and had a good time with friends

Before I know it, it is time to get ready for dinner. We do this and go up to Jade for Sushi and green tea. Then on to the Schooner Bar to meet everyone for a pre-dinner cocktail.

On to dinner and then on to the show. We had a good time at the show. Then I was ready for bed. I think this is the night we bought a Chocolate Martini for my friends. Jeff had the bartender make her one by his recipe. She was so drunk. She is the cutest thing too. I think her husband was glad that he might get lucky. Oh Bonnie please do not read this. You might kill me. I will not mention your comments in the elevator. lol

Well we did go to Lowes today, it was crowded but not overly crazy. We decorated our yard. It looks really good. Now I just have to finish the tree.

Sandy I'm glad you survived! Did you and Heidi get a lot of shopping done?

Marcie, let's just say that HEIDI got a lot of her shopping done. It was fun because we had my niece with us so we staked out different parts of Walmart until they allowed us to grab the toys. At least we didn't have to wait outside! I got HUGE 24.59 Plush Mickeys at the Disney Store for 8.00. I know the twins will love them. Got a 2gb sandisk at Office Max for 24.00. Thought that was pretty good.

I am overly tired. I hope to stay awake until normal bedtime. Hope that happens.

Jeff got up early too. I was lazy and stayed in bed. He went to Best Buy and was in line by 2:30 for the laptop and computer but when he got there the line was already out of the parking lot. He stayed until they annouced they were out and was home by 4:30 am. He napped and then took me shopping to finish up all of my shopping. I am not totally done. I still have to make a CD and buy picture frames. Then I am done.

We have not decorated yet. Not sure when we will get around to doing that. I really want a new tree. We can not have a real one due to allergies. But I do not see me willing to go back into that mess and shop for a tree. lol

Once again we woke and went to have breakfast in the diningroom. Woke the kids and had them ready and waiting for us when we were done with breakfast. This was the day we had free excursion tickets to do the tour. I was not too excited about this and we had gone back and forth on what to do. Just did not know if we wanted to do this tour, but heck it was free and free won out.

We debarked and found the stand on which to meet for the tour. Our tour was for after lunch but we wanted to see if we could go earlier. THey were very nice and did allow us to change our time to 10:30. They told us to be back by 10:20. We had 40 minutes to do a little shopping. Jeff really wanted to buy himself a Harley shirt. The kids wanted Hard Rock. We did both. Mac bought a t-shirt and E a baseball cap. Jeff and I bought got a shirt from the Harley store with Grand Cayman on the back.

We arrived back at the place on time but had to wait 40 minutes for the tour. It was hot too. But I would rather be there now in the heat then here in the cool weather. I should not complain it is suppose to hit 68 today. Which is rare for NC in November.

We were the last 4 on the bus. The tour must have started at another location and we had the last 4 seats. It kind of stunk because we did not get to sit together. It was one of those buses/vans that had a single row next to the left side. THere were 3 of those left. I figured the kids in one a piece and then Jeff behind them. I would sit with these older ladies. But that lady was adamant that I would not fit there and the boy had to. Erik did not looked please at all. I tried to explain to this lady that I was small and had sit in worse. But she was not allowing me to sit there. She was sure I would crowd her. Oh well it worked out ok. Just hated we could not sit with one another but E was a trouper and made the best of it.

Our tour started and I have to say we had a great guide. He stopped at many places and told us alot about the area. We then stopped at the Rum cake place. It was so busy. You could hardly get around. The non alcoholic punch was gone. The kids were so thirsty. We had to buy them drinks. We did try some of the cakes and the rum. I did not buy any thing except the drinks for us.

We then went on to Hell. I had been there and done that but the kids found it neat. Erik and Mac could not get over all the limestone.

Our driver stopped at 7 mile beach and told us it is not 7 miles long. lol It is a very pretty beach.

My favorite as usual is the turtle farm. We had only been once before and it was many years ago. I could tell the differences in the farm due to the hurricane. Before we saw baby turtles and if I am remembering correctly we also went into several buildings. Erik had a blast here as we knew he would. Mac was not as interested. I think her interested last all of 10 minutes. lol

We then took the ride back and was shown more of the island. I was glad we took this tour. The kids were able to see a little of the island.

We did a little more shopping and then headed back to the ship. I wanted to meet the group at Margaritaville but the kids wanted to go back and do the Flowrider.

I took a nap and then went up on the pool deck to chilli in the hottub. I just loved that hottub. Several of our group wound up in there with us too. We had a blast. I think there are pictures on Barb's pictures of us in the hottub.

Of course we had to get ready for my nightly Sushi and then the schooner bar. lol I think we went by the schooner and then on to the Champagne Bar. I had some Mumm and then it was time for dinner.

I really do not like the late seating. I love the fact you are not rushed but I hate that when you are done you are tired.

We did eat and go to the Love and Marriage show. This was the night that person freaked out because she thought Jeff was talking about her and had her sister say something to us. lol Now this is funny because at the time we all were a little surprised at her comments because we had no clue to what she meant. I mean you should never assume someone is talking about you when you are not a part of the conversation. It only makes you look foolish. We were not talking about her. As if I would spend my time talking about her on my cruise. lol We did not! Anyway in hind site it is so funny that she made those comments because it truly made her look like the stupid one. I had several people tell her to get real when it was brought up later to them. They new I was not allowing this person or her family to ruin my cruise. I think one comment was why did she not explain herself then? Well ya know when you are trying to figure out what someone means by a comment and then they walk off out of your site and they are getting on the elevator how can you explain? Plus I am a firm believer the more you try to explain yourself the more it makes you look guilty. I did later tell that person, my ex friend, that I was or Jeff was not talking about her. That will be another story.

We had a wonderful but tiring day in GC. I am gald we did the tour but I was also glad to be looking forward to Jamaica for the next day!
