Hi, guys!
I'm home! (Wish I were in WDW, though!)
Had a great (short) vacation. OKW was lovely, very homey, nice room, a little traffic noise occasionally though. The first few days weren't too crowded but Friday and Saturday were insane. The crane kind of ruined our castle pictures so we didn't get any, but that's ok.
Here's my mini trip report- days 1 and 2 - I can add more later.
Day 1-
We arrived to a huge storm. It was raining when we took ME to OKW and we were starving and already late for our ADR at Coral Reef. I tried to cancel from the bus but it didn't work, so I cancelled from Olivia's and got a table right there. We had a good lunch - conch chowder and crab cakes. It was pouring by then, but we got a really nice CM to drive us in a van to our building and bring up our luggage (to the 3rd floor) in the pouring rain. We hung out in the room for awhile and watched the Resort channel until it calmed down a little and then we went to Epcot. We had a few wines and some samples and rode Maelstrom and Rio but left before IllumiNations to get a little sleep.
Day 2-
We got up at 5:30 to get ready for our castle pictures. We got to MK around 7:15 and waited until about 7:45 before we got in the park. We took some pictures at the castle (crane and all) before going to Crystal Palace for 8:05 breakfast. Rob got a haircut at the Barber Shop (adorable!!) and we watched the Main Street entertainment, shopped, and hit some attractions - Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion, etc. I finally talked Rob into going on Hall of Presidents for the first time in almost 5 years of being together. I am just amazed at the artwork, the historical detail, but Rob was a little bored. We had lunch at LTT and went to see Philharmagic (love it!) and a few other things before leaving to shop at DTD. I bought almost 300 worth of stuff at World of Disney and found out that the 15 flat rate shipping is a thing of the past - $76!!! I quickly decide that even $50 overcharge for overweight luggage was a better idea. Now, if you buy a big figure, you will pay about $76 each to ship! That will definitely deter me. I decided not to ship. By this time, we were running late so Rob said he'd take care of it and I should go back to OKW to shower and change for Narcoossee's. So, I did. The boat ride is beautiful and I got to see the Tree House Villas! I got changed and we made it to Narcoossee's - 1 hour and 22 minutes late. I had called ahead and they had said it was ok but when I got there the server gently chided me for being late - but gave me a gorgeous window seat directly aligned with the Castle! We had a fabulous meal- and some great drinks (chocolate martini) and watched Wishes. They piped in the music and it was perfectly romantic and magical. I even saw the water pageant. It was great - the service was fabulous - the person who answered my call, the seater, our server, everyone. Narcoosee's is definitely a great place. I can see why it's on the list for Disney Fairy Tale Weddings.
