Did ya hear about Pimp C dying? He's from here and his funeral is going to be here. There's going to be a bunch of stars here. My friend works at the funeral home and he said he's working his funeral. Really sad to be that young and die like that.

I've never heard of this person -- and I've usually heard the names of some of these people....... No one in this house listens to Rap...... That is actually the only type of music not listened to around this house! LOL!

We are watching Next on Showtime Movies on Demand.

Mac is spending the night with one of her friends. It is just Jeff, Erik and me. Wow I had forgotten how easy one child is to handle.

I have my ornament. So let us know when to open them. Woo Woo

Marcie I am glad you are having a nice mini vacation.

I really would love to have one about now.

I did realize earlier that I only have 9 more days to work for the year.

I think everyone has their ornaments now, right? Should we go ahead and open them?

Let's say that opening day will be tomorrow, Sunday. I will try and notify everyone by email.

It is defintely winter. Ted was just called away to snow plow for the City he works for. It isn't his job or dept but they ask for volunteers. He likes doing it for the extra pay plus playing with the BIG BOY TOYS. LOL. It is so quiet here. I miss having Heidi here when Ted gets called out.

Better get those emails out to everyone.

Ok opening day is tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the also the day Jeff leaves for 2 weeks. I know my kids will be here but I am going to be so lonely. Especially next Friday. I am giving a Christmas party for some people at work and my kids will be going somewhere to stay that night. I am dreading sleeping in the house by myself. My dogs will be in my room with me.

My parents are coming down to help me do some work on my house. My is great at putting things together. I need help in Erik's room and my guest room. Have to have the house look nice for the party. I decorated everything but the outside and my tree today. Believe it or not but it is going to be in the 70's some next week. Erik is going to mow tomorrow. I am going to put out my lights outside before my parents get here. Or I am hoping to get that done.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Selena, I understand how you are feeling. The house is so quiet and lonely without Ted here tonight. I usually can't sleep very good when he is out snowplowing. I think Cosmo2 will have to sleep with me. LOL

Okay I will go first. I got up and was sitting here about to get on the DIS and I remembered today was opening day!! So, I got my box and felt like a big kid opening it. I opened my box and found 3 wrapped presents and a card. (actually ended up being 4 but I will get to that in a minute). First I opened my card and found out my secret santa was Sandy!!! (I really think it's neat that I've picked someone different every year and someone has picked me every year). The first thing I opened was a Mickey Mouse :earsboy: ornament in a glass ball with snowflakes on it. You plug it into your lights and it lights up. Very, very cute. :goodvibes :mickeyjum Next, I opened up a pair of pink funky monkey socks!!! They are pink with white polkadots on the top and purple hearts on the bottom. They have a brown tail on the back and on the top they have a brown girl monkey on the top with a purple bow in her hair. Very cute, I will definitely be wearing them to keep me warm this winter and think of my monkeys. The third presents will probably be the best present I get this year!!! I opened up the third present and it was a white t-shirt and magnet sheet with the words "Forever A Princess" in pink and a pink Mickey head with a silver tiarra on it and a wand with a star in silver. I put the magnet on my fridge. Sandy, it took me a little while before I could post because my shirt brought me to tears and I was touched beyond words that you knew the perfect present for me. Now, how do I wash it? I would be heartbroken if it messed up. I think I will wash it by hand and not dry it. I think I will be wearing it today!!! Thank you Sandy very much for my ornament and my other presents!!!! I feel so loved. Much love to you!!!

Here's my presents

The magnet is on my fridge but has the same print as the shirt.

I woke up early this morning eager to open my SS gift. It was from Marcie. It was a very cute ornament with Tinkerbell. She is stuck through a key hole and you can see her both sides in the key hole. Thank you so much Marcie. I will think of you every year when I put her up. She is my second Tink ornament and I just bought a tink tree topper so she is perfect for my tree. What you wrote in the card was very sweet.

Here she is:

When you turn her around, you see her legs and butt on the other side.

Thank you Heidi!!!! I love my ornament. Look above at Marcie's and it is the same one.

Marci, I do have to ask you though, was your ornament all one piece? When I took mine out the whole bottom part with Mickey came out of the globe. :confused3 I got the hot glue gun out and put a bead of glue in there and he seems fine now though.

Mine was all together. I'm glad you fixed yours. Did you plug into your lights yet?

Oh my goodness you guys, my Secret Santa was Selena. It was so exciting opening them. One ornament was Pinnochio. I don't have any Pinnochio's so that was fun!! Then next box I opened was Jiminy sitting on a candy cane. Oh my gosh, how perfect for me. I will take a picture of them and send to Heidi to post. THANK YOU SO MUCH, SELENA! I love this ornament exchange. You will always think of the person when you put it on your tree for years to come.

Marcie, you are welcome. I had that design made last summer just for you. I told the lady the story behind the saying. She was very excited to have created a special one for you. She said she felt honored and wanted it perfect. I wanted to have a tshirt made for your WDW trip but didn't get it done. I was very happy when I drew your name! The instructions say to wash it inside out, careful the first couple of washing so it doesn't bleed on other clothing. Dry as usual. I am hoping that it doesn't crack when you wear it. I changed brand transfers and am getting better luck out of the new ones. I also sprayed it with scotchgard. The theory behind that is it isn't suppose to fade as it does without the spray. I hope it lasts for you.

That is really sweet that you did that for me Sandy.

I thought I had to/from gift tags from last year but I wanted to start wrapping today and I can't find them. Guess I'll be off to the store soon.

Yes, it is on the front of the tree in a place of honor. I thought about you when I put my snowman you gave me last year on the treee.

Heidi just called me. There was a shooting in Colorado Springs at a church where a DISer friend of ours goes to. He shot 4 people. Don't know the complete story yet. She was just too worked up to talk to much. Bless her heart, she was crying when I was talking to her. Unfortunately, she is home alone right now. She was having her church girls group over tonight for their Christmas Party so she stayed home from church today.

I took a picture of my ornaments and will have Heidi post it.

Marcie, you are a step ahead of me. I need to get going on wrapping. That is what I hate to do the most.

 I heard about that briefly on the radio this afternoon. I guess there was a shooting in Arvada this morning too. I didn't hear exactly what it was, but it sounded like it was at a church too?

I have to share this recipe that my neighbor gave me. I made it for dinner tonight and it is really good.

Crockpot Taco Soup
1 can kidney beans
1 can great Northern beans
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can navy beans
1 can Rotel with cilantro
1 can Mexi-corn
1/4 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg original hidden valley ranch (not buttermilk)
salt
pepper
onion
garlic salt
hamburger

You brown the meat with the onion, garlic, salt and pepper then add that along with everything else to a crock pot and cook. I cooked mine on high for about 3 1/2 -4 hours. I think if you did it on low all day it would be good too.

I used two cans of black beans and got rid of the kidney beans. I also added about half a pack of the taco seasoning and used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. I took two of my empty cans and rinsed them and dumped the water into the crockpot to give it a little broth.

I served it with tortillas on the side and cheese on top (Rachel used a cheddar jack mix and Brad and I used pepper jack, Jacob didn't even try the soup :confused3 )
