Call me a cheapskate
but in the past my family has opted to rent just one hotel room and just squeezed in (2 adults, 5 kids, 3 who are fairly small) since we don't spend a lot of time in our room except for toiletries and sleep.
Some of the kids even volunteer to "camp out" on the floor in sleeping bags and pillows and pads we bring.
In checking the Disneyland Hotel they keep pressuring me to rent a suite or two rooms. But if we're willing to be a little uncomfortable (by some people's standards, not ours) why can't we just rent one room?
Is there some sort of rule? Something I'm missing here. Or are they just trying to make more money off us?
