Just curious what you all think... :fish:

The shipping company we will use is called TNT and is a well known shipping company here in europe.
Let me explain how the transaction will go step by step: first I go to TNT with the package and start the delivery procedure, after I give them the package for you, TNT will send you a notification to let you know the process has been initiated,
and give you instructions on how to complete the payment to their company's payment agent. After they secure the money they will release the package to be delivered to your address and keep the payment until you receive and check and test it.
If all is ok with the item you need to contact TNT to give them the OK to pay me, if not, an agent will come to your house to refund your money and get the package to send it back to me.
If everything is clear send me your name and address and I will go to the nearest TNT office and start the delivery procedure.
Please let me know soon because I have alot of offers for this item and I would like to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Not necessarily. Did you try looking for TNT online, if they are a well known company in Europe then they should have a website. If they do and seem to be a legitimate company then it's probably okay. However, if they don't then it is likely a scam.

Edited to add: Just read pp link to scam. That does sound the same, I think that a legit transaction like that would have funds being transferred to TNT directly probably by credit card, not to an individual via Western Union. I wonder if TNT actually does provide this kind of service.

Yes, they are as far as I can tell.

Even if it's not an outright scam, I would never purchase something that needed to be shipped from Craigslist. The beauty of CL is that it's local. You meet the seller and exchange cash for the item. There is ZERO protection for you is you buy something that needs to be shipped.

Pretty much anytime someone insists on getting paid through Western Union, I assume that it's a scam.

YES.

If you put a FLAG on your listing you will see what countries are viewing your item. Last week I had 202 from USA and FIVE from Nigeria. :sad2:

I had five stupid scam emails, TOO! :furious:

Yeh, that's what I was thinking too.

Too bad, as it would have been a great deal. :lmao: But as the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...

Just for chuckles, here's the first part of the response I got. This was the first red flag, before the whole shipping bit...

I'm really glad you're interested in this item. It used to belong to my husband the judge gave it to me after the divorce and I have no use for it. doesn't make sense, it's a professional camera I just want to get rid of it as soon as possible because the money and time he spent on it was one of the main reasons for our divorce.
I'm not really good at this stuff... all I know is it's working perfectly and has never had any problems.
After the divorce I moved back to my mother's in London along with all my belongings ... this blasted thing included. I'm selling it in the US because it's an US model and will only work there. not true, and of course anyone buying such an item would know that
I'll ship it using an international service at no charge for you. The listed price is the real price. I never asked about that I'll even send the shipping receipt to my husband so that he sees what happened to his beloved stuff. um, ok
Because I can't explain much about the item technical stuff I'll offer a 10 day return option. ya, right :rotfl:
If you're serious about buying the item, email me back so that I can explain how this will work.

Thanks for all the responses.

This was listed as being in my area, not in Europe. :rolleyes1

I've bought lots of stuff off Craigslist but this was a first for me.

I did alert Craigslist to the post and responses.

SCAM all the way.

My husband has a boat motor on Craigslist right now and I think the guy is trying to scam my husband. He wants him to send the motor today and he will put the cashiers check in the mail today too. I said nope not happening until the check clears. so he told the guy this and he hasn't called back since.

These are just TWO of the many I got just this past weekend.... :sad2:

Hey,
Got your mail,i actually stay in afica nigeria to be precise if it is shipping that is bothering you.don't get disturbed over that as the shipping cost would be added by me.thanks and hope to read from you soon.

Hello
I appreciate your response to my inquiry. Am interested in buying
it from you. I would love to come and check it myself but I just got
married and am presently on an honeymoon trip to Hawaii with my wife.
Pls do withdraw ,with immediate effect, the advert from Web as i
dont mind adding $50 for you to do that, so i can be rest assured that
the item is held for me. I should believe it is in good condition as
stated. I will be making the payment via a Certified Check, which my
secretary will mail across to you. I'll be picking the item from you
with the aid of my mover. My Mover will be coming to pick it from you
once the Certified Check has been cashed.
Pls I will need both your full name and physical address to issue
out the payment. waiting to hear from you soon.

Regards.

btw, I found them by doing a search on "go TO "... you can guess the rest! :lmao:
