Probably a dumb question, but does anyone know if you can use the die cut machine with craft foam???? I need to cut out a bunch of stars to make fairy wands and i don't want to have to cut them out by hand. Thanks!!!!

I don't know if it's advisable to cut foam with a Sizzix, but it is possible to cut foam with the regular dies. I just did it recently - the plan was to make shaker boxes. Unfortunately I ran into adhesive issues with the foam & changed my project....but it worked like a charm! I just don't know if it will dull the die more easily than paper.

the regular sizzix machine says it cuts foam sheets and I've done it with much success!

:rotfl: Someone actually reads the instructions?? :rotfl: Sorry - that just cracked me up! My father never did & I rarely do either....only when asked by someone else for help. In this case I didn't have the instructions book anymore.

Thanks for letting us know graygables! I was hoping I hadn't ruined my die.

From the website (and a major selling point for me!):

"Ideal for all crafters, the Sizzix Machine, with the help of steel-rule Sizzix Originals Dies, provides a convenient, in-home solution for easy die-cutting of memorable die-cut shapes, letters and numbers from a wide variety of materials, including paper, rubber, felt, fabric, foam, sheet magnet and more."

The original dies are the only ones you can do this with (the sizzlits are for a single sheet of cardstock). I tried felt, but the kind I used didn't turn out so great. I try not to cut anything w/ adhesive on it (it gums things up), so cut first, xyron after (if possible)!

Yep, I have Mr. Monk for a DH, so I do read the instructions (and he's probably got them in a file somewhere! :rotfl2:

I use foam all the time with my Sizzix and it works perfectly! :)
