How is the Cracker Barrel? How is breakfast? What are the prices?? How far from WDW?

I dont know about in fl, but here in VA i LOVE cracker barrel for breakfast. sometimes for breakfast-for-lunch (or dinner) The pancakes are GREAT! Prices are to too bad. You pay about as much as you would at ihop or dennys, only it is better.

Not better FOR you mind you. Just better tasting.:rotfl2:

What are the prices like for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Are they reasonable?

I worked for CB for 4 years in MA and I can tell you liking the food depends on the person. Yes they serve breakfast all day long. Most meals are around $8, but there are some breakfasts that are $6. Yes they have eggs, bacon, country ham, pancakes, french toast, country friend chicken, grits, oatmeal, cereal all the time. No it's not the best place to go if you are on a diet!!

Where are the CB near WDW? Check their website crackerbarrel.com and you'll see there are almost 600 CB in the USA! It was a family run company and has since gone corporate, but their values are still the same Pleasing People.

Here's a sample of the breakfast menu.

Sunrise Sampler® Two Eggs cooked to order with Grits, Sawmill Gravy, Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits, real Butter and the best Preserves, Jam n’ Apple Butter (on request) we could find. plus~
Fried Apples and Hashbrown Casserole ~and~ Sampling of Smoked Sausage, Country Ham and Thick-Sliced Bacon. OR Wild Maine Blueberry Pancakes OR Eggs in a Basket OR Buttermilk Pancakes with Fruit Toppings

BTW the price I pay here in MA is going to be the same price you'll pay in FL or AR!!

The pancakes are THE BEST!! If you've never had them, you've got to try them. If you're a light eater, adults can order off the kids menu--it says for kids of all ages.

:offtopic: The last time we went to WDW, 1987, my parents drove all of us down there in a conversion van. Well, my mother was in love with Cracker Barrel...we ate their EVERY meal! I actually think she planned our stops around were there was a Cracker Barrel. Still to this day, I really don't like going there. Just had to share my story...

not sure how far from Disney, as another poster suggested their website tells you where they are located.. we eat there everytime we get on the road.. we look for the CB's along I-95. If we drive through the night to WDW.. we usually stop at around 6-7 am at the CB near St. Augustine..

It;s good food. .really reasonable, only downside is the shop connected to the Restaurant if you have kids.. They WANT WANT WANT WANT everything.. lol :D

There's one on 192 East, about 4-5 miles from Disney. Not sure about others.

One of my favorite places to eat!!!I pretty much always get breakfast any time of day.I'll order the steak and eggs and get a huge steak, scrambled eggs, hash browns ,grits, fried apples and biscuits and gravy for about $8 or so.There's one on 192 just east of Disney and one across from Universal by the Hyatt Place.

I don't know if they still have them, but CB used to have "road maps" of the country in the stores that had maps of the major roads and little icons for every Cracker Barrell so that you could plan your trip around where to stop at a CB.;)

CBs are great because the food is almost always good (like any place you run into a bad meal every once in a while) and the menu and prices are consistent no matter where you go. In Florida or Virginia or anywhere else you can stop at a CB and know with reasonable certainty what you are going to get - takes the guess work out of vacations if you are in a hurry and don't have time to hunt for a good local place.

What is a bit annoying, however, is that they always try to find the most difficult place to stick the CB stores where you have to find a service road and wind your way around other buildings to get to it - they are almost never in an easy to get into location where you just pull into the parking lot off of the main road - nope, you've got to hunt it down like wild game on the Serangeti, haha.

Cracker Barrel is good, but I prefer Bob Evans. Anyways, theres a Cracker Barrel on rt 192, not that far from WDW. However, the traffic on 192 is awful!

We eat at the Cracker Barrell on 192 at least once every time we are in Orlando/Kissimmee. That one is really nice and is hardly ever crowded. I also don't find that the traffic on 192 is all that bad. We stay at a timeshare on 192 each time we go and we have never had any problems.

I would like to have the Country Fried steak, with a choice of mashed potatoes covered in white gravy, green beans, mac n cheese and a side of buttermilk biscuits. :)

And they have REAL maple syrup for pancakes!!!! That's so rare.

I forget where it was we stopped last summer it was CB in Florida but not the one near WDW I'd say it was an hour out. We stopped on our way. The maple syrup came in these little glass bottles! Loved it!

pirate: There is a new CB that opened at Winter Garden Village at SR429(Western Expressway)/SR535. Just opened last week.

The one we used to go to was just off SR 429 on 192 Imho probably the easiest one to get to if you are staying near the Disney Western Exit(AK Area). Take the 192 Exit off 429 at light make left on 192 It will be just down the road on your right. Unless you want to do some shopping, then head the other direction on 429 towards Apoka to the new Winter Garden Village. Old Timers fan with Grits,Biscuits and Applebutter Yum pirate:

Cracker Barrel is perfect for breakfast! Yum pancakes, grits, sausage, hashbrowns, biscuits with gravy. Now I'm getting hungry! But be careful, everyone loves it so it can be quite crowded. But you can browse the gift shop while you wait and that makes the time go by pretty fast. Everyone has told you the closest one. I haven't eaten there in 3 years but it was just as good as any of them.

OT - doom1001 - I laughed so hard when I saw your siggy :lmao: I don't get the "I love appliances" guy where I live now . . . I miss him

Great food. Go early or late for breakfast. Prices from $5 - $10 for a meal/person. Great pancakes and hashbrown casserole.

Yeah - I sure wish they had seperate entrances and maybe a connecting door inside, but I HATE having to wait in that store with my 3 children.
