CR wing rooms

We are considering switching to the Contemporary Resort from POFQ for our December trip. If we do, it will definitely be a wing room- tower is too expensive. My question is- how far is the walk to the bus stop, food court, etc. from the wing rooms? The reason we chose POFQ is b/c it is so small and not a lot of walking from anywhere. It is difficult for my mother to walk far distances and I don't want to switch if it is very far. Anyone have any comparisions of the two resorts and the walking distances?

The North Garden Wing is clsoest to the MK, while the South is closer to the pool and marina. However, the distance between them is no more than a few minutes' walk. The trek from the fartherst North or South room (those closest to the lake) to the Tower is also no more than a few minutes. A lot of people complain about how far the wing rooms are from the tower, but frankly, I don't get it: you have much more walking to do from a distant building like Rapa Nui at the Polynesian to the Great Ceremonial House.

I'm staying at the CR in June. There are a couple of threads on this page discussing the condition of the wings. It'd be worth your while to read them!

Thanks sotoalf- we were considering getting an AP or hoping for a Disney visa room only rate and upgrading to CR. I really think after much contemplation and reading these boards that we may just stick with POFQ. I just thought if we could get a good rate it might be worth it. But from what I've read, I think I'll be safer with POFQ.

I just wanted to add that we stayed in the North wing and then next year in the Tower.

The North wing was pretty close to he Food court and very close to the buses and the MK walkway.

IMHO, the North wing was closer to the bus and walkway than being the the Tower!

We love the CR!!
