I know that may sound like a DUH question, but here it is. It will just be myself and my son (my wife and older son is heading off to Europe through school). We decided and WDW trip would be just as good. We currently have reserv. at the CR and wondering if it is worth the extra $$ when compared with the ASR. I know the rooms are probably twice as big as the ASR, but it will just be the two of us. Also, does the CR have the refillable mugs. We stayed at POFQ last summer and definately got our money's worth from our mugs. What do you all think? :earseek:

Yes, the CR does have refillable mugs.

As far as the two resorts go, I have stayed at both. I saw less "magic" at the All-Stars, something about it just wasn't "Disney" to me. The Contemporary has a wonderful location, and the rooms are very large. The All-Stars are very spread out, and the rooms are tiny. But, is the CR worth the extra over the AS's? That depends. The AS's are an excellent value, can't beat it anywhere at Disney. But, the Contemporary truly is a "resort" - lots of things to do, the place is comfortable, and they have those little added luxuries. :)

We have stayed in both. It is so nice to be on the monorail at the Contemporary, but we like the All Stars as well. My son and I did a weekend at Disney and stayed at the All Star Sports - in the Football building. I would save the money.

Pinboys,
I think that if your asking if it's worth the extra money that you probably don't think so yourself? And I say SAVE the money. To me just being in WDW is enough. And think of all the extras you could bring home or things you could do with the extra money. You could even stay a couple extra days! This is my opinion. When we go on vacation we have 2 weeks we can go for and I preffer to stay at a cheaper resort and stay longer than at a deluxe and stay shorter. Plus I really like the food court at the All Stars. It's nice not to have to have a sit down meal fro every meal.
